5Slide Amsterdam is now direct from London on the Eurostar, that may make for a smoother journey than Ferry or plane.

5Slide I got my tickets from the same source, basically pay double on the face value of ticket plus they then add there fees, Wallop, I have treated it like an early christmas/Birthday/anniversary/christening/graduation present all at once!!!
The only consolation is the tickets have arrived and are safely tucked away so whatever you think of Viagogo they did deliver.

Just to confirm Ry is worth every penny, Cadogan hall is my favorite London venue, but I just hope the ticket re-sellers (legit companies with a fancy website) are not making all of the money, if Cadogan Hall sells 20% of the tickets or whatever the allocation is at face value and the other 80% goes through web based re-sellers at two or three times face value where is the 80% big return money actually going, to the ticket re-sellers and not the venue, artist or promoter Anyway I am going and may have a spare ticket!!! Without the tag you may be lucky if something is written under the cone on the body, the headstock points to it being a catalog made by Valco 1960,s ish Folkstar.
Fun guitars. Check out what Jeff Lang does with his

Carrying on from Michael's comments it would be good if someone bought Dobro from Gibson, then bring it back to life as they have the most interesting back catalog.

What I don,t understand is why the venues do not charge more for tickets and put the money back into the artists pockets and maintaining the venue, instead the ticket re seller has made a lot more money than the artist and venue???
Irrespective I am happy to see Ry, this will be the 3rd time and I would guess it will probably be the last time round, it was last in 2009 with Nick Lowe and 1991 with Little Village before that.

July is the crucial month for Gibson, they have been slipping down the quality pole of late.

Got my tickets for London Cadogan hall in the post today, I paid a premium through a ticket reseller but I was prepared to dig deep to see Ry Cooder again, it annoys me that when you contact the venue direct they only have a small allocation of tickets and the rest go to the re-sellers who mark everything up!!!
Aside from that there is another gig on the horizon with very affordable tickets still available, John Hiatt with Sonny Landreth is in the UK in July.

There are still interesting guitars out there, some affordable and some not so.
Equally there are some great current builders so do not forget to consider commissioning a bespoke guitar with everything you think you need, then grow with it.

I saw Rainer when he was in London, it was amazing to see him use the loop pedal to build up the songs, stop playing and take a drink whilst it all carried on !!!
I was sitting about ten feet away from him and and got a close up view although my Dad who I took with me was not as a big fan and persuaded me to leave early to drive out of London.
I have since learnt to go solo to a lot of gigs !!!
