Pete I got a TKL square neck case a while back from Ron when he was still with the Reso centre, that works fine and is relatively inexpensive at the time.
Not good enough for aeroplanes though.
I recently got a Bill Asher lap steel and he is using a custom US case make that make really nice cases so they may be worth a punt, alternatively ask NRP what cases they use for there hand built SQ neck tricones.
Also Mike Lewis what does he use for his square necks???
Good to see that you have finally moved over to the dark side of lap slide.....

All,
by chance I came across a new release including two of my favorite artists/players.
Charles Lloyd & the Marvels with Lucinda Williams, the album is called Vanished Gardens.
It is a Jazz album with elements of country & Blues enthused with Jazz.
To be honest not all of it is from my style of interest (Jazz) but there is some sublime playing from Greg Leisz.
The knockup band for this album include
Charles Lloyd Sax Flute etc
Lucinda Williams Vocals
Bill Frisell Guitar
Greg Leisz Slide
Reuben Rogers Bass
Eric Harland Drums
If they keep at it they may have a future in music!!!!

The other thing for consideration is we need to get other people to play our guitars to actually hear what they sound like!!!
You do not get the full picture when cradling your prize.

Stevie, Dave Kelly is a great player, but this is not the best example of an acoustic as all you can hear is the LR Baggs pickup Great electric sound, what we need is a clip or two of some pure acoustic playing. What pickup sounds great in an acoustic is a another thread.... This is a clip I found on Youtube, it is a cheap acoustic which sounds OK to my cloth ears. Lee

Just to add my slice, the tone sound and feel comes from the other end of the slide the player!!! what they use then dictates the pallet that they are going after.
Maybe some of the advice is that some high end acoustics are set up & specifically built to play a certain way, a bit like a Lotus Grand prix car, to take it Rallying would require some modifications, why would you when you could buy a pre prepared ford escort???
Kelly Joe Phelps got a good tone from his Gibson, Eric Bibb recently got a good tone from a £100 recording king straight off the shelf guitar.
Play what makes you happy, there are always surprises out there.

Michael anything is Better than what I already have.....Not a lot.
Anything would be greatly appreciated, I may end up having a go at making one as I have access to Boxwood and a selection of other harwoods but an example on which to base the designs would help greatly.

Michael thanks for the offer much appreciated.
I have an option on a vintage National cone which I think is of the same vintage so I will give that a go, although I may be looking for a biscuit???
I think the National cone for the reso glass is the preferred choice over the Beard cone, although if you were kitting out a Dobro a Beard would be a preferred choice. Regards Lee

Michael, I am also considering a cone transplant for my fiddle edge, currently it has the spider set up, it is still a great guitar but I am curious to explore the Biscuit option and see if it will offer a Darker Honk as opposed to leaning towards the Treble tone of the Dobro.
Have you already tried this in "Old Blue"
