He's playing England and Scotland next week. My initial hunch that he might play the Red Rooster festival proved to be correct, if only I could take such foresight to the dog track! www.redrooster.org.uk/line-up/

Graeme, I remember Dave and his other half, they sold my son a LH Squire Strat. Last saw them at an Albert Lee gig nearby.
If you are looking for someone in the area to sell you guitars you 'don't actually want' I've got a few to shift!

John Beeby?
That brings back memories.
Still remember a Hound Dog dobro he had in the window, first resonator I'd seen in the flesh.
His Crouch End shop continued to trade as a guitar emporium called Rock Around the Clock but it ceased trading three or four years ago.
Now it's a juice bar!
C'est la vie - unfortunately.

Great news, good spot.
Looks like he's got a couple of gigs in June in Belgium and Holland, I'm guessing it'll be around then.
If I had a Poirot-style tash I'd grab the ends, twist and hazard a guess that the Red Rooster festival on May 30-June 1 might be a likely destination...
Just a wild punt though.

At most gigs now many people seem to think it’s acceptable to hold a phone / iPad above their heads with no thought for others behind them who are there to enjoy live music.
Probably the same halfwits who film traffic accidents and text while driving. Put it down, there’s a world out there.
Went to see Slim Jim Phantom Trio recently where an altercation broke out over someone trying to watch something they’d shelled out good money for ruined by someone else’s thoughtlessly waved ‘technology’.
Slim Jim stopped playing and asked the offender “Just what do you do with that s**t when you get home? Why not stop. Then you, and everyone else, can enjoy the evening.”
Too right.

If anyone wants to check out what a slide player can get up to using loops check out Rainer Ptacek. Great slide playing, interesting chording behind the slide, fine songs well sung and really sympathetic use of loops in the background – on record and on the road. He was truly mesmerising live.
Sadly missed.

I think the screw was at some point holding the headstock back on while the glue dried. Looks like there's still large crack at the back.

Wouldn't advise random eBay purchase, very hit and miss - some people can make them, some really can't. Chickenbone John's workshop guitars at around £130 are excellent, sturdy and set up for great playability. I'd probably avoid piezo pick-ups which many on eBay have, though my first purchase a couple of years ago (off eBay - I got lucky!) has a piezo and is a fine piece made by Washboard Chris who posts on this forum. Cigar Box Nation is the forum to look at www.cigarboxnation.com/I rarely pick up a 6 string anymore, you have been warned...

I have one that I bought second hand back in the '90s.
Lovely warm tone, it has month and year of manufacture 1-91.
Don't play it as much as I should really and was intending to part with it to fund oncoming retirement, but not actively selling it.
I'd be open to sensible offers if anyone really wants one.

"God save the rest of the band" indeed.
Dave Lee Travis's 'trombone playing' eventually got him into all sorts of trouble.

Pardon my ignorance on all things electric.
I bought an ace Sollophonic based on Wilko's Tele off Andy last year and run it through a Vox Mini 3 that comes with pre-loaded amp models/effects etc.
Would a Ditto Looper work with this or would they 'conflict'? Not playing live, just a***ing around in the house.
