Well....I bought the one that was on eBay. It was so reasonably priced i didn't think i stood a chance, and then you think oh no, what does everyone know that i dont! Well.. it's gorgeous, sounds sweet and good intonation and string height. Even sounds good with the really light strings it came with. But i know next to nothing about these other than the forerunner of estralitas etc. Anyone want to show off their knowledge and fill us in, good and bad points?!

I had one of the very early ones as my first reso. Cost me a 1967 Telecaster bridge pickup and £350. Bargain - helped start me off on slide but I found it needed 15s for it to make a decent warm sound. Robust, acrylic finish which could have been better - described by a guy in the old Resonator Centre as "pan splatter brown" due to the roughness and odd spots of paint on the surface. Out of interest, what's on the label inside? - it may be my old'n.

Hi Jonnybees,
The Jazz Blues was the first guitar produced by the newly formed National Res-Phonic Guitars (NRP) in the 1980s. They are nice guitars and I would think that they will become collectable. Mark Makin had the first one that came into the UK.
What is the serial number?

I have one that I bought second hand back in the '90s.
Lovely warm tone, it has month and year of manufacture 1-91.
Don't play it as much as I should really and was intending to part with it to fund oncoming retirement, but not actively selling it.
I'd be open to sensible offers if anyone really wants one.

Also what gauge strings would you recommend? The ones it came with are very light and the cone , or at least i think its the cone, does seem to rattle when i pick with force

I used Newtone Michael Messer Phosphor Bronze 15s on mine and it sounded good and played well.
However, if you're using a magnetic pickup you might want to use the Newtone MM Nickel 15s instead.
