Muireann is great and she has now had the door opened that could and probably will bring her much success. I remember Lucinda Williams and Bonnie Raitt starting out, and their route was similar. They both became great writers and very successful artists. I was in touch with Muireann's father a couple of years ago when she first appeared on social media. I forget how that happened, but we had a long phone conversation about Muireann and how they should approach launching her career. They certainly made the right moves. Not everyone gets those breaks. This is Lucy Zirins, a teenager from Lancashire with a similar gift. Lucy is now in her thirties. Shine On Michael Muireann Bradley is playing at this fine festival in the summer. Attachments:

Why is everyone relying on Amazon, a supplier with a questionable attitude to the way it treats its workforce (and, so it seems its 'valuable' customers)?
They undercut proper knowledgeable retailers, forcing them out of business - so giving themselves a monopoly while knowing nothing about the specialist nature of the businesses they destroy.
Not an ad, but Blackwells say they currently have 10+ copies in stock and only 4p more than Amazon are asking.
eBay US have copies available at cost of $31 with postage supposedly at £7.15 if you can't get the book from a UK bookseller.
Steering clear of Amazon means that, with our custom, dedicated sellers will hopefully be able to continue to trade.

Lace Alumitone Matchbook Pickup, Chickenbone John uses them on some of his CBGs and there is a demo of one on YouTube. He has other humbucker pick-ups. In US CB Gitty sell pick-ups and hardware. No affiliation to either. Here's Lace product info lacemusic.com/products/lace-alumitone-matchbook-pickup

"James Stewart was a multi-talented actor who could do more than just act. He was also a skilled musician. He played the piano, guitar, and even the accordion. He was also a talented singer. He released two albums, one in 1949 and one in 1966." Attachments:

Very sad news, inspirational guitar player. He signed the tribute reso Andy Solloway built for me as well as a custom-built Chickenbone John 3 stringer. There's a dog-bowl reso built by Shane Wagstaff of Rock Hill Guitars too. Been seeing him since early-mid '70s in venues great and small - always great in the smaller ones. Last saw him joining the New York 3-piece Daddy Long Legs for an encore late on a Sunday afternoon at the Railway Hotel, Sarfend, about 3 years ago.

On the Reverb site specs section it clearly states "Brand - National".
If you click on the word 'National' it opens up a page linking to 'National Resonator Guitars' with info about both original National, and later National Reso-Phonic Guitars.
The listed guitar is neither of these, so it is a 'fake', regardless of the worth.

Saw Emmylou Harris at the Jazz Cafe in Camden when she was touring Wrecking Ball.
Support act was Gillian Welch.
Nancy Griffith had been headlining somewhere else in London that night but turned up at the end and Emmylou, Gillian and Nancy sang three part harmonies - imagine how heart-breakingly ace that sounded...

Hi Michael
Nice guitar. Out of interest what guage strings do you use on the 4 string Turbo Diddley reso?
Also be interested in guages people might use on a 3 string reso?
I'm using 46 30 22 and wondering if dropping down a little may make the 6" cone sing a bit sweeter.
Cheers
Phil
