Do any of you guys use a looper pedal and if so which one? A friend a just lent me a Boss RC-12XL with the possibility of buying it. it is an older version of the RC -30 which seems to be generally well liked.

The NUX time core is a very simple effective looper. You can run two inputs into it (e.g. guitar and vocals), with separate outputs for both. I use it for all gigs now. I CBA with anything too complicated. TT

Here's an example of how I'm using it. TT

I'm also thinking of getting one, using it in a similar way to you TT. I don't have anyone local to jam/practice with and thought a looper could be a help and fun. I'm going back to look at the thread mentioned earlier, but if any of you decide to move something on I'd be interested.
Best wishes to you all, John

Looked at the nux that deuce recommended and it's described as a delay pedal. Now I am confused! The video I watched didn't help much. Is it used alongside a looper or is it one? My brains beginning to hurt and I'm remembering why I've never bought one! Lol! Best wishes to you all, John

My brains beginning to hurt and I'm remembering why I've never bought one! Lol! Best wishes to you all, John The nux time core has delay etc as separate functions, which I don't use (or can't use simultaneously). I'll put up a pic of my settings later, which I never change. Basically, when set up, I just click to start the loop, click to finish it (it plays from the loop start straight away), then if needed click once or more to keep adding on top of the original loop. It really is easy - anything too tricky would just confound my tiny mind. One thing noted in the previous thread (and from experience) is that too much added quickly gets distorted and feeds back. Live, I will mute any drums after looping them if adding extra on the loop, and I will also turn off the mic whilst looping the drums - makes the sound much clearer. I've had people using loops at open mics complaining about feedback etc, saying "it works fine in my bedroom" - LOL! BTW, thanks for the likes for the vid. It took me a month of practice to get it 'right' though! TT

Hi TT, I think I might have a mindset similar to yours (and probably a few other forum members I might think of) when it comes to gadgetry! I'm looking for something to give me an end result similar to your video, except I'll be using it for practice not performing. I think there is one with 2 switches so you don't have to double tap! Simpler the better. I'll have another look at what's available today, fresh start and all that! Best wishes to you all, John

I have a JamMan stereo that does lots of things and has a whole lot of buttons and it suits me for fiddling about at home. I think it would be straight forward to use on stage too though. Bill

Thanks for the input Bill, another one I shall check out. I don't mind buttons and knobs as such, it's learning how to use them I have a problem with! Also family and friends seem to think (mistakenly I might add) that I have a tendency to become a bit of a know it all once I sus anything out! Best wishes to you all, John

Best wishes to you all, John Hi Bonzo The Boss i am trying has 2 footswitches Left one you tap once to start recording and tap again once to stop it then starts playing your loop if you tap it again you can add onto it - the R/H footswitch stops the playing / recording. you have 11 loops so you can save.

It took me a month of practice to get it 'right' though! Sounds like a month backed by 20-30 plus years of experience and talent... H
