This is sad news - I only met him once, we met up for me to buy a guitar from him but we stopped to chat for quite a while. A nice and very thoughtful bloke. RIP.

Thanks to you for organising it Michael - it gets better each year. And thanks to the staff at the Pocklington Arts Centre who couldn't do more for us. Thanks, Bob

I have one of the expression systems in a T5 - I'm using a home made buffer ( basically a zero gain preamp ) pedal which makes a great deal of difference - I wonder if its an impedance mismatch? If I use it through a TC VoiceLive it sounds good too.

Michael , thanks for organising this, as always I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and socialising.
Thanks, Bob I think that this year may be the year that I actually start taking some of these songs out - ( if I can find a venue with chicken wire )
....but you've heard that before.

I've bought directly recently & received the stings within a few days, and a free sticker!

Catfish Kieth uses a board which has a highlander pickup attached.

You can clean a blues junior by swapping out the phase inverter for something with less gain so the power section is cleaner 12aU7 , and perhaps a 12ay7 as preamp which stops early distortion but I'm not sure if it's more headroom or just a quieter amp. and it's painless and easy to swap back.
Well it's painless if you wait for the valves to cool a little.
Disclaimer: If you're not used to fiddling in the back of an amp - have a look around for some safety advice before doing anything....

OK dumb question ......why are there 4 capos on the top picture? and two on the next one down.....
Update:
I've had a google around and he sometimes uses two for 'extra hold', which I can understand, but 4?

If you're tight on funds the Laney LC-15R is a great little 2 x EL84 , 15 Watt combo. If you're not short on funds ( and I know in certain corners this sacrilege ) the Roland Blues Cube is currently floating my boat.

I've a couple of guitars with the K&K Pure pickups - they seem the most natural to me .....

I'd love to play that but I don't really want to put the empty machine-head holes in my headstock.
(I'll get me coat )
