Anyone know which Dobro model this is please? I know it is electric ..and when he plays live he covers up the headstock logo for years i thought it was a Washburn ( he did have a signature model by them) but i have seen video footage tonight and it appears to be a Dobro logo ..also read it was a dobro from someone at the samegig.

Believe it or not, it's a Gibson made Dobro. Very few made/sold. I thought it was a Washburn too, but inquired at Vintage Guitar Mag about it...

When Gibson took over Dobro in 1994 most players were pleased, Gibson had a good name and money to put into the business. However, after they saw how Dobros were made they shut the factory and moved production . Dobros were then made by factory workers. ( Many of them very skilled but not with Dobro making) Gibson did not seem to care about the brand , so though often well made, U.S. Gibson Dobros are inconsistent. Gibson then started production of Dobro in the far East. Unlike Far Eastern guitars (which are sold as Epiphones ) Gibson put the name Dobro on several different guitars of the usual Far Eastern quality. PT So a new Dobro should possibly be called an Epiphone made by Gibson in China?

This is a zephyr dobro... As per Marks book, circa 1987, less than 30 made, stopped production with gibson takeover. My guess: (and after reading the vintage guitar interview - www.vintageguitar.com/21214/eric-sardinas-2/ ), maybe its a zephyr customised one-off by gibson - now called La Pistola. But you can see where his own washburn guitar came from. Direct rip-off in fact! TT

I had a Zephyr, nice guitar just like the one in the photo (not Erics).
Although from memory the construction needed a few tweaks

OK dumb question ......why are there 4 capos on the top picture? and two on the next one down.....
Update:
I've had a google around and he sometimes uses two for 'extra hold', which I can understand, but 4?
