hi to every one, We had a good night on sunday, not many of us (5 in total) but good all the same, Many thanks to Chickenbone john, for his input and help, he has a great percasive style of playing, (although a would have to see it a few more times before i can actualy work out whats going on (it would probably help if i film you next time))
'i would like to work on Stones in my passway' next so if any one has any sugestion let me know.
thanks again to every one who turned up (not a bad turn out considering it was very close to bonfire night and the weather was realy bad (foggy)) any way i'm ging of the right a new song for Guy Falks, i'm going to call it 'Short Fuse Blues' althogh it seems to be a bit of a slow burner.

I should be there on Sunday Gareth all being well. I am going to guitar Avalon on Saturday at Leicester Racecourse with a friend of mine. One of my colleagues at work has given me a wad of money to buy an acoustic guitar for her boyfriend for his Christmas present. So the perfect day, I get driven there, get to try loads of guitars and spend someone else's money as well as my own. Regards Roger ;D

hi pete, roger and all the weather was really bad. i live five mins walk away and decided to drive. so i wasn't expecting much. i waited till 8.45 and left for home, if any one turned up after that then i am sorry.
Gareth (P.S how do you feal about broadening the horizons by making it a Folk/Blues night, i think it migh be a nice opportunity to perform in a much less formal setting, almost a rehersal time for people who want to perform but dont feel comfortable to go straight infront of a crowd. also to get the chance of playing slide with accompanyment from other instruments, what do you think?(P.P.s brought another instrument !! called a 'cuatro Moderna.' its a 10 string afair, kind of a cross between a lute and a twelve string with a bit if madolin frown in. its from latin america and is thought to have evolved from the same base instrument as the spanish clasical guitar))

I am sorry to hear that the weather stopped the resophonic get together on Sunday. Gareth, keep it going! It is still very new and will take time to develop a momentum of its own. If you stick with it, it will build up.
Shine On, Michael.

Hi Guys..and there was me about to post my grovelling apologies for not turning out! Tho' I've got to admit, Sundays fortightly can be difficult...once a month is OK for me.
Anyway, if you missed your fix of slide get-together, why not come up en-masse to the Crossroads Blues Club "Slide Shootout" night at the Tower of Song, Cotteridge (King Norton), Birmingham this Thursday?

Yes indeed - snow in November?? A regular monthly event would be much better for me too (Sunday is usually my busiest working day ), so we need to chat about that next time around Slide On! Ian. www.diamondbottlenecks.com

hi all. thanks for the support. the next session is the 2nd Dec, it might be a good time to look at the format, and the time frame. it sounds like once a month might be more practical for most of us. shall we make this one the last before Christmas, and come up with an action plan for the new year
Gareth
P.s. Thanks michael for the support

Hi Gareth sorry I did not make it last Sunday. It was not the weather that stopped me rather a really bad case of the flu, even after seven days flat out I still feel completly crap. Reference Sunday nights I would be very happy to play some acoustic back-up to other peoples slide perhaps get a short set together. Let me know and I will bring along one of my acoustics rather than the resonator. Kind Regards Roger ;D
