hi roger and all
thats what i was thinking. ill bring an acoustic and my epiphone, which you are more than welcome to use, pete if you have some thing you want to have a go at playing let us know the tune and what key and we can work out a backing. lets keep the emphasis on resonators but not to many at the same time is. I also like the idea of a short set, i'm happy to sing a couple, lets see what we end up with

Hi Gareth, I am really sorry I could not make it on Sunday but as I explained to Ian my flu turned into numonia ( I have probably spelt that wrong). Still feeling crap, even after a course of anti-biotics, anyway I hope everything went OK, let me know what was agreed and I will fall in with what has been decided. Hope everyone has a good Christmas, again soory I missed it. Regards Roger PS. Give me a ring Pete and perhaps we could get together for a pint over Xmas.

hi to every one sorry i havent been in touch but i was hit realy bad by the flu last week and still not a hundred percent. not many people turned up on sunday but it was nice to do some songs with Jules's cousin who played on a standard Acoustic the contrast of sounds worked great, it definately seams the way to go anyway here is a list of questions:
when does every one want to start back after the new year? does every one like the idea of comming up with some songs and getting a set list of tunes? does once a month suit all or do we have enough people to sustain once a fortnight ?
the more people who answer these question will give me an idea of what direction to take things
many thanks and happy christmas
Gareth

Hi Gareth, I am sorry I could not make the last session but as I explained in my last post I was pretty grotty, even though folks were a bit scarce I am glad it went OK and those that turned up had a good time. In answer to your questions, I am quite happy to try and keep it going once a fortnight and I think a small set agreed by all is the way to go. We could have perhaps half a dozen numbers with individuals taking it in turn to lead, this would give us different styles and types of music to keep it interesting. As I said I am happy to to play either acoustic finger-style or rhythm to others slide lead. I am probably the most inexperienced slide player there and this would definitely help me pick up ideas and tips. Start back date after Xmas, I am happy to meet up either on the 6th or 13th of January, I will go with the majority decision. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a happy new year. Kind Regards Roger ;D

Hi guys, for me monthly is OK, but fortnightly doesn't work...to be really honest, fortnightly things with me tend to disappear from my diary, and the weekly or monthy events get my attention...my experience is that you'll loose more people with a fortnightly event, and a "1st Sunday in the month" sort of date works better -it's more memorable and people log it into their schdule...besides, I'm just too busy to do every other week! Anyway, keep us posted when the next one is scheduled.

Dear all Pete as asked me to just let you all know he's had a bit of an accident with his little Stella. Unfortunately due to a fire at home (for which Pete and his family luckily escaped) Stella has been reduced to a small pile of ashes. Pete will be back on line asap.
