Hi to every one that is interested
I have secured a venue for the first Bromsgrove Resonator Club meeting. it is open to all who are intersted in developing their skills, (you dont have to have a resonator just an interest in the misic and a guitar will do) i dont realy know how it will run its all new to me but to start with a thought casual affair based on learning and playing (if people have input i will be more than greatful)
The venue is the Turks Head on the Worcester Road (http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/17/17811/Turks_Head/Bromsgrove) the club will run fortnightly on Sunday's from 8ish till closing the first date will be the 7th of October,
all i ask is to show support to the venue by buying a couple of drinks (each that is)
thanks
Gareth

HI Gareth, Thanks for the info on the pub location. The suggestion about the Blind Willie Johnson tune sounds good , anything by BWJ is ok by me. See you on the 21st of October. Hope it goes well on the first meeting I'll be in the South of France in NICE wishing I was there. I hope you do that BWJ tune on the 21st, I don't know that one ,and I am keen to learn anything by Blind Willie Johnson. Alan.

Hi, Gareth. Chicken-bone put me onto this. I'll try and make the first session. But I'll be on the bus ; could you please tell me if your direction 'a few minutes outside town centre' means a few walking-, or driving-minutes?
Look forward to seeing you all next Sunday.
I have a Paul Beuscher brass-bodied nickel-plated beauty, which chaps who play much better than I can often try and mug me for. Fighting them off keeps me quite fit.

Hi robert i'm going to put my neck out and say between five to ten mins walk from town centre,(it takes me 15mins to walk home from town centre and the pub is about half way). if you are comming from the worcester direction you might be able to get of the bus a bit closer. because i think it goes along the worseter road. hope this is helpful

hi basil I'm a bit confused, its my fault for not being clear enough, and a am very new to allot fo the terminologies. I envisaged the club to be loosely bassed around the resonator guitar, and slide styles, i'm becoming more aware that slide can be played on allot of diferent mediums. The aim for the club for me was to help me develop and learn for as little money as possible and to give other people the chance to draw from the knoledge we have in the area and i would like the club to develop as organicaly as possibe. so yes bring you guitars by all means and i look forward to seeing you

Hi Gareth! Good to meet you at the Worcester Blues night a few weeks back.Yes,I would like to throw a few ideas in on Sun night.I can teach my version of Soul of a Man,using Fred McDowell licks in the intro. It is quite easy,in open D.Alternating thumb is the key to playing some of BWJ tunes.I am a big fan of open D, my fav.You will probhably have more ideas than enough by Sun night so clear the memory bank and let's slide on! Hey Ian,are you wanting me to bring Fox's special biscuits to the show as normal? Keep slidin! Slidin' Steve
