Hi,thanks for the reply, the NRP tuners slot in with ease but when I try the Ste Mac tuners are very tight in the holes in the middle of the headstock&will not go in properly .I could make the holes a little bigger but for originality's sake I am loath to do so(Sadly the Stew Mack tuners are much better quality than the NRP's) does anyone know of any other vintage style tuners that are a straight swap for the original National ones?Don't know if they are all the same but the tuners that came off it were quite fancy with engravings on the plate. Thanks again for the help

Hi, just joined the forum & want to say Hello. Michael has just touched on a problem I have re the Stew Mack tuners.I have just acquired a very nice vintage style O which has been fitted with NRP tuners that stand out like a sore thumb(only three screws used to hold them on to avoid making extra holes). They look too new, and the buttons are too white.I have in my possession a MM blues that has been fitted with Stew Mack tuners which look much more fitting, but sadly, although the screw holes seem to marry up to those in the National headstock, the posts of the tuners don't go into the holes in the headstock, whereas the NRP tuners slot straight in. I have thought of trying to age the buttons on the NRP (Nikotine or tea maybe). Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance Chris
