Start with the negatives, No case, non original frets, tone & volume knobs non original, Bridge non original, so you have a lovely 40's Jazz box of player grade, if you want it buy it but not sure it is a bargain my Epiphone electar is more original and with everything aside from the strings as it left the factory, but buy what you desire, I would say a good price for the seller and do not think that putting money in means you will get it back (repairs time etc) as that is part of the cost of the hobby/fun, if you do you have done well. Here is my preferred option

Royal resonators may restrict your songs though, to Queen, Kings of Leon, King Crimson, Prince, etc.....

Found this in a May 2006 Guitar and Bass magazine where Dave was a technical contributor, you can just see a line of bodies in the workshop

Looks Good and close to home, not familiar with this pub as only really frequented two in town, The Dove and the Retreat, but that's another can of worms (Good song title maybe ??)

I only quickly looked and this one is too early for the paper mache fingerboards, I am not on the prowl for any more Nationals but over the years I have always enjoyed the feel of a 14 fret more it just feels right to me and my style I guess.

Brandoni Music circa 1995 at the Wembley guitar show had the leftovers of the Hofner factory, included were mahogany lapsteel blanks, at £15 I took a chance, the chrome bridge was another Tenner, I used a local luthier to make it up with my usual choice of pearloid for the headstock (the same sheet of pearloid on Michaels Dave king telecaster!!!) the pickup was made by Kent Armstrong who also supplied a wiring diagram after I chatted to him for half an hour or so on the phone (pre email). So that was that. Then a few years ago another pops up on Ebay, £25 for an unfinished body and another Tenner for the Bridge, I have all the other stuff kicking around just waiting for the mood to take me and I will give the project another push. There is a steel bar in each neck, for the latest one I have a maple fingerboard and will go with dark frt markers and inlays (who knows) the pickup is from a Godin electric that I coodercasted so it will not go to waste Lee Attachments:

Sorry to hear that, he was a real enthusiastic force and loved the instruments, I met him at one of the shows when he was just starting out with Vintage and have one of his CD,s somewhere.
Take care and hopefully you are now playing alongside leadbelly in the next chapter.
