I'd definitely be interested in that type of video chat. Spanish tuning is all I use too, sometimes in other keys, but usually in G. I've adapted a lot of songs from Open D like Keep your Lamp and You've Got To Move. I like it, because I end up with a fairly unique version, which is what I'm usually going for.

I used to tune all my resos down that low (even vintage Nats) with no problem. I really liked the dark, swampy tones. But then I started experimenting with lighter strings (I love the purple pack Power Slinkys, 11-48 with it's unwound 3rd) and I started tuning up to key of G (in Spanish). I found that my guitars really ring out now with those strings!

Hey Fred, That looks as good or better as any of Republic's finishes! Nice job. I have a Hwy 61 and it's a really nice little guitar.

It'll be great to follow your progress on this! Someone on here, years ago and made some really nice stencils for the hula dancer on the sack of the polychrome Triolians. Have you ever seen the videos on facebook by the guy "RL Rainwater". He has a BEAT wood body triolian, that sounds amazing!

I double posted sorry... But I'll add that I also have a Tascam DR-7 recorder and it's hands down the best audio, but no video. With the IQ7, you download an app for your phone that turns it into an impressive looking audio recorder, with lotsa settings, EQ and effects that work great when recording audio from the app. But it gives no indication that these setting are applied when you are using the video camera with the mic plugged into the Lightning port. In all my A to B comparisons, I just don't hear much difference with and without the mic. I want to think it makes a huge difference, since I sunk $100 into it, but I just don't hear it...

I haven't done any FB Live videos, But I have been experimenting with different ways to make videos to post to FB. So far, I've bought and used a Zoom Q2n recorder, A Zoom IQ7 on my I Phone 11 and just the I-Phone 11 alone without a Mic. I've worked exclusively in the Photo and Video field for 40+ years now, but I'm no expert at recording music. My opinion is that the Q2n is the best all around quality wise, but I think the small gain in quality is negated by the convenience factor. You then have to transfer to a computer and edit/compress it and then post it. The I-Phone is definitely the convenient way to shoot and post right away (unless you want to edit). I'll be honest, IMO the Zoom IQ7 is only fractionally better than just using the I-Phone 11's native mic. The tiny difference is probably negated by the convenience factor and more importantly, completely wiped out once FB processes and compresses the video to put it on your page. Michael, I'd love yo hear your thoughts on the IQ7 on the iPhone 11 vs Just the 11 and it's built in mic.

Not a big fan of pedals, gadgets and gimmickry, but I find myself curious about Trem pedals. Looking for the "Feeling Bad Blues" kind of tremolo effect. Any recommendations?

This video prompted me to try a Gibson ES 125 3/4 model: . I eventually found this one, a 1957. Love the warm tone of the single P90 pickup!

I'm agreeing with Fred on an electric for slide... I love my little ES125, the student 3/4 size model. Been playing it a lot lately!

Wow! Thanks for the recommendation. just watched it and I really enjoyed it! Another excellent music documentary on Prime is "Echoes In The Canyon". Not Blues, but all the musicians were deeply influenced by them. Also, if you've never seen it, the feature film "Cadillac Records" is definitely with watching and also available on Prime. It's a big budget hollywood film but it's really good and loosely based on fact. The story of Lenord Chess, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howling Wolf, Etta James and more!

Based on this thread and research and review, I just bought these ( wireless)and I have to say they are awesome! I've now tried them with a Dobro with a Fishman pickup, acoustics with K&K Pure, Highlanders, National Slimlines and P90. I'm very pleased and they were only $39! Very well built and best part, no more hum!

I love the field recording of him called "Came and Found You Gone". I think that's the name... Great feel, like your right on the porch with them!
