I've had good success selling instruments through Preloved and Fretboard. Both are free with no selling fees. Fretboard is guitar focused so it would seem ideal for you. Of course, always be aware of scammers.

That's a Scheerhorn built by the luthier Tim Scheerhorn as opposed to the one seen at $2900 recently which is built under licence by National Resophonic. I don't know if Scheerhorn is still building but they did used to run around $10000 each. I could never see why they were so expensive but people were clearly prepared to pay that much.

Music Speed Changer app by Single Minded productions on Playstore changes both pitch and speed independently. I use it all the time for doing what you want to do.

Thanks for the information. I've done some research now and found out it's from 1957. For a 60 year old guitar it's in reasonable condition. It's missing the National badge (there are two pinholes where it should be fitted) one screw from the back plate and has period correct replacement Grover tuners. Otherwise everything else seems to be original.

I've just acquired a National Reso-phonic 1033 lap steel and could do with some advice on set up. I've set up a spider bridge before but not a biscuit bridge. I've already noticed the biscuit bridge is in backwards so the low strings are sitting on top of the bridge slots, not in them. The strings also need replacing so I'll strip it down and turn the bridge when I do that. Currently the strings are approx. 10 14 21 30 39 49 (based on micrometer readings) and tuned to DGDGBD. The seller said he tried heavier strings but these worked better, maybe this was due to the backward bridge? Suggestions for string gauge would be appreciated as these seem light for the scale length.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks Michael. You've nailed the sound I'm looking for so next the question is how do I find a good period National?

I'm looking for some advice.
Three years ago I was fortunate enough to acquire a 2006 Pete Woodman tricone squareneck. It appears to have all the upgrades listed on his site; National cones etc, plus a new neck, so I guess the only original bit is the brass body.
I love the guitar and think it sounds great, but I've never found a National to compare it to, so I am wondering what, if any, benefit would there be to owning either a new or original National. Bearing in mind this instrument has National cones, and it's a squareneck so no action and playability issues, what would justify me spending 5 or 6 times as much as the Pete Woodman cost to have National on the headstock.
I admit this is GAS question as I haunt various sites looking for a National Tricone so I'm wondering whether I'm wasting my time.
