This was outstanding. Mark was great in the interview and the history, knowledge and tales are priceless. The man behind the book. My favorite book sits an arms length from my two old Nationals. I strum through that book much like the old guitars. Thanks to the washboard resonators for such a great series of podcasts. I look forward to them all! Thanks Brian. So many people getting in touch to say that this interview has enlightened them on resonator history and his good Mark comes across. 🎯

A great podcast and what an interesting man Mark is. As for suggestions for future guests, how about Dave Arcari?. He’s already on the list actually but good call. Don’t know much about him but he’s great so that would be lovely to discover about him in real time. 🎯

Bad setup. A new saddle will get it playable. A good starter instrument for sure. Gives you time to save up for an MM guitar!!

Hello all,
I’ve got two pals looking to buy a nice roundneck resonator and I said I’d ask around on their behalf.
So,
I’ve got one pal interested in something vintage and in nice condition as they’ve had a little windfall and it could act as a nice but still playable investment.
The other one is looking for something vintage but perhaps a bit more affordable and most definitely playable.
If you’ve got anything ‘resonatory’ that you want to swap for cold hard cash then PM me and I’ll forward the details on.
Thanks all!!
Martyn

£700 for a used Hot Rod guitar from Lenny?
Same money would buy you a new Michael Messer brand guitar of considerably better standard and setup.

I’ve got a clean one with original case that’s spare. It really could do with some work to sort the bridge rattle. Might be too nice though?

Interesting.
Just finished the ultimate One Man Band book / bible by Dave Harris.
He has dozens of these novelty and original artists from back in the day but not this chap.
I’ll send him the link so he can feature him in future versions of the book.
Fascinating. He sounds like he was an early originator of manipulating sound like we think of synthesisers or guitar effects now.
Amazing.

Oooh! I’ll take one if you’ve still got them for sale?
Was just looking for a tutorial course this week and saw this thread get flagged.
