Sounds like a guy scrambling for some good press, doesn't make anything else I've read here sound any better... Precisely! Seems part of his criminal code IMHO : "You can't scam all the people all of the time, you but you can get away with it forever with some of the people some of the time."

Hey snake hips I just am not too bright I guess I can send photos on my I phone via e- mail but I dunno if it's the same for the forum -? Magnet is a good idea - Mr Lenny is insisting he will ship the polychrome after completing neck setso I hope so - I think the N is legit but the stories got to me and I've waited two months since I paid for the polychrome . Having said that I like Lenny and always try to not get vindictive but .... Anyway - if you have a step by step way I can post the photo via my I phone ill do it -?thanks for the comments everybody -oh by the way it has regular screws for the cover plate -

As I've mentioned on the forum earlier, my husband has been waiting nearly a year to resolve issues with Lenny Gerslopper. After he reopened his BBB complaint, dashed off an email to the CA Office of the Attorney General and the Internet Crime Center (IC3), guess what happened? Mr. Gertfloffer actually refunded my husband's money to his PayPal account!!! Curiously, the payer was not Lenny himself but a Grant Gerthoffer. He also emailed a 2-day USPS label for us to return the guitar. Also odd to me were Lenny's instructions NOT to take it to the post office but to leave it for the postal carrier to pick up but didn't have an explanation as to why.
My husband, being the really good guy that he is, immediately set about carefully packing up the guitar and I took it to the Mailbox Express store just down the road from our home. I really couldn't leave it for the carrier because we have rural delivery and the mailbox is on the roadway.
Are y'all sitting down? Lenny has the supreme cajones to send my husband an email two days later asking where his guitar is!!! Gertsnobble was apparently so impatient he didn't consider that it was mailed on the Friday before Memorial Day so it took a whole extra day for it to get to him. Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit, if that don't beat all!

Well on a more positive Note I checked the serial number of my N and it's in mark makin s book and it is authentic - so I apologized to Lenny about that and he's trying to get the polychrome finished and get it to me -

Continuing 15 month saga. I posted in Feb2015 and Apr2015. Consigned a $7k tricone with Lenny in March 2014. After 8 months it had not posted as sold on his website so I requested that he ship it back. He then told me that he had just traded it away for cash and another guitar. I told him I'd take the cash and the guitar he traded for. He said he had sold the other guitar and would have my money sent right away. That was November 2014. I heard nothing for months and he didn't respond to emails. In January he resurfaced and explained that he had been dealing with family issues (aging parent)and apologized for not sending me the $6k he owed me. In early February 2015 Lenny sent me $2,800 (from a Paypal account listed as Grant Gerthoffer) with the promise to send the $3k balance by check. He never sent any additional funds. Almost 5 months have passed and I have no check or paypal payment for the remaining balance. So far he is still responding to my emails and he continues to promise payment "next week", but it never seems to happen. Not sure what to think. I want to believe that he's just a bad business man and not a scam artist, but it's getting very hard to keep the faith.

'LO OUT THERE-w/ the intervention of pay pal i got a phone call from Lenny last night-says he's sorry to have made me nervous by not sending a tracking# & the guitar i purchased was picked up by USPS in the morning-& i should have a tracking # in my e mail-so i check this out-the 'goods' as described on the invoice were picked up at 1:08pm & in checking it this morning are in transit to the destination-also included in the e mail was a note asking me to end the dispute w/ pay pal so he (Lenny) could "pay some bills"....apparently pay pal has put a hold on the payment-good job there..i e mailed the Len back & told him i would certainly end the dispute as soon as my guitar arrives-i ordered a classic 12-$799.00 + $35.00 for shipping total $864.00-wait a minute that's not right!....i don't know what the extra $30.00 was for but i asked at purchase time about a case so maybe he charged me $30.00 for the case we will see...hopefully i will get the guitar i ordered & the aforementioned 'goods' don't turn out to be a 12 pack of 'classic' CocaCola for $834.00-no wait-that's $864.00...the 'goods' should arrive on Monday or Tues. so i'll post back then & we will see if perchance Lenny is on his way (& i do hope so for his sake) to redeeming himself & his business...dbs

I have to laugh at the sub-lede: "NJ man almost flew to Santa Barbara." I'm from NJ, and I can tell you, I can't think of a worse fate than being forced to go to California.

I am from NJ also, and I can't think of a worse fate than having someone from NJ travel a long distance to settle a score with you....
I have followed Lenny's website and videos or a while and thought he was a good guy...so I was surprised when I visited the good folks out at NRP several years ago, and they seemed to be cool on him... I wonder if the Hot Rod name was borrowed from NRP..?
