Thanks MM ! BTW I'm not far off getting the exact guitar sound I want, but I'm finding that DI into the PC makes the distortion a bit fizzy on the bottom end. Maybe I need a better pedal than the blues driver? Maybe the new usb interface will help when I get it? On the plus side, I have a fishman aura in my pedal chain for live reso work - oddly it gives the electric guitar some real crunch and clarity. TT

I don't think it's the pedal, it is more likely to be the interface. Digital fizz and distortion are AWFUL!!!! ....Analogue distortion is WONDERFUL!

Greetings, I'm new to this forum last few days. Also new to the world of blues, delta, ragtime, slide & open tunings on guitar after 5yrs of stumbling along. Was learning Dear Prudence and decided to look into Travis picking and this whole world suddenly opened up adding a whole new dimension to my guitar & enjoyment. Been learning some delta blues, alternate bass, monotonic bass, basic ragtime stuff as well as some boogie rhythm & slide in open d. Currently working on William Brown's Mississippi Blues albeit at a slower tempo at the moment but it's coming along. Now about to purchase my first resonator!

Well "Tain't Long for Day" after crossing "The River of Jordan" around here, although I also "Roll and Tumble" along with the "Gravel Road Blues." Might "Write a Few Short Lines" along the way.

The Twelves - Kokomo Arnold - his fast ones are easier than the slow IMO.

Hi Jean, There's some good stuff on activemelody.com & jamplay.com on youtube, especially the Eric Madis lessons which give you a good foundation in fingerstyle, both alternate bass & monotonic bass. Someone else I came across on youtube recently was 'watcher6149'. He's got some detailed walk you through it lessons on some great songs, all free! Orbital.

You're welcome, I too am a novice in the world of fingerstyle and slide. I'm having to re-learn my right hand technique at the moment, after realising I bent my thumb and wasn't curling my picking fingers in the stuff I've taught myself this year. There's loads of good stuff online. The Tom Feldmann lessons are worth checking out as is 'Blah 148'. For some weird, wacky and wonderful, try 'Messiahsez'!! Orbital
