I have a few from Ian, an older brass one also, I use what is close to hand, chopping and changing does not hamper too much, I do prefer the domed ones from a personal aesthetic.

I have a Gann Dobro in all walnut with maple bindings, I stripped it down and it has been awaiting repair for quite a while now (well only ten years or so) Nice solid wood construction with soundposts as opposed to a well, mine has a bolt on neck. mine is a keeper if that tells you anything. Regards That is the Gann on the far right before I stripped it down Lee

That's great. I think the early Continentsls are the closest thing to a prewar National. And this is a style 4 ! Or the closest thing to an early Continental !!! I quite like them with the laminated three/four piece neck but have replacd cones with NRP hot rods to give more something as they were not strident in volume/tone. The prices being discussed are ambitious but who knows. Everything else is on the rise. Regards Lee

Another to fly the nest. This I brought new from Guitar Guitar last summer, it is effectively as new condition. Anyone that needs a pro instrument this is it, full blown electric or the advanced cole clark acoustic pickup system with a under saddle piezo, Microphone or face/top sensor. Two outputs for the two options, either into PA or acoustic amp and or a normal guitar amp for the electric pickup. There is a polite acoustic resonance for home use but not as loud as a full blown weissenborn when not plugged in. With original Cole Clark moulded case. It is a fantastic instrument far above my capabilities and needs, I do not gig and it has been out of the case half a dozen or so times as do not have a PA or acoustic amp to twin with my valve amp. I can post although would prefer collection, drop me a line. Photos to follow. £1295.00 Regards Lee

Start with the negatives, No case, non original frets, tone & volume knobs non original, Bridge non original, so you have a lovely 40's Jazz box of player grade, if you want it buy it but not sure it is a bargain my Epiphone electar is more original and with everything aside from the strings as it left the factory, but buy what you desire, I would say a good price for the seller and do not think that putting money in means you will get it back (repairs time etc) as that is part of the cost of the hobby/fun, if you do you have done well. Here is my preferred option

Royal resonators may restrict your songs though, to Queen, Kings of Leon, King Crimson, Prince, etc.....

Found this in a May 2006 Guitar and Bass magazine where Dave was a technical contributor, you can just see a line of bodies in the workshop

Looks Good and close to home, not familiar with this pub as only really frequented two in town, The Dove and the Retreat, but that's another can of worms (Good song title maybe ??)

I only quickly looked and this one is too early for the paper mache fingerboards, I am not on the prowl for any more Nationals but over the years I have always enjoyed the feel of a 14 fret more it just feels right to me and my style I guess.
