so after missing out on a similar one a year ago ..i asked the builder to give me first refusal on his next build ..and here it is... arriving on Monday It is a 4 string CBG resonator ... 99 percent of it hand built... the cigar box is hand built and painted .. the pickup hand wound...the neck is Cherry wood with and an ok fingerboard with stainless steel frets ...the reso part is a paint tin .. and the matching case is hand built to . looking forward to this one.

Hi Rich
Have you tried an MM Blues? it certainly isn't "Banjoey" or "Plunky" ...I would say "Growly" ..

Hi Stevie
not sure why TBH .. This is from the SIXTUS website .....
"Although being a magnetic pickup, this pickup is remarkably true to the genuine sound of the resonator guitar. To adjust the output of the b- and e-string of acoustic phosphor bronze string sets shift the lid aside and move the "poleShade magnets" in their slot. Closer to the middle means more dampening. Then shut the lid and fix the pickup on the guitar. For electric guitar strings simply take out the pole shade magnets."

Hi Michael
when you say nickel are those the same as normal electric guitar strings? If so then the magnets need to be removed ..
