I agree ..i is now owned and played regularly by Kirk Hammett from Metallica..
The story is long and complicated regarding the sale of guitar by Gary Moore - he wanted the sale low key and it ended up in
Gary Moore's words "Paraded around like a bearded lady"

mmmmm one of the culprits of noise is a well known hi profile guitar trader who was working at the show for an amp maker.
i saw for myself Peter ( one of the organisers) ask him to stop as he had been twiddling away for quite a wile and the guitar trader said
that he was "trying out the guitar for someone"

ok so knowing someone who has done it ..he did indeed mark up where the cones sit just incase they swivelled round.
The paint was on pretty thick but it came off with sharp knife and wet and dry ..

Most Buskers had an epoxy glued badge, which would have left a scar if removed, so might not be . There is usually a serial number on the head as well. Putting a badge with the wrong maker on is not good. I have put badges that are similar to brands (I love the look of the old National badge) but draw the line at fraud! the advert ends with "altho it has a sticker with National Resophonic, we think it may be a republic resophonic guitar." to me that isn't trying to fraud anyone ..they just arnt as educated about reso's like we are.. |
