Hi guys. I'm a new member and 1st of all I'd like to say thank's for having me on here!
I'm a complete novice when it comes to reso's I was wondering if the honey dipper was any good as an entry level guitar? I ask cos there's a guy close by selling one for £390 and it's in excellent condition if the photo's are anything to judge by....
It's almost impossible for me to go to a shop and try one out due to becoming disabled so any input from you guys is most welcome.
Cheers in advance!!!

Hi John Thank you for your kind words. You are very welcome here. The Gretsch is a good buy for that price and as an entry level guitar I am sure it would serve you well. I don't often visit eBay, but yesterday I saw this guitar (click the link below). It is being sold for £395.00. I have absolutely no connection whatsoever with the seller, so I am not advertising, but for that price it really is a good deal. I remember selling the guitar and it appears to be in almost perfect condition. With the current price of a new one being £605.00 plus £20.00 delivery, at £395.00 it's a brilliant deal. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Michael-Messer-Blues-Resonator-guitar/283214968570?hash=item41f0ed76fa:g:oosAAOSwSBhbxu7u:rk:1:pf:0Shine On Michael

Hi John
Welcome to the forum mate. I too have a MM Blues, possibly from that same batch come to think of it...Michael, when was ‘Speckles’ born/shipped?...anyhoo, I fully concur with Jono, it is a brilliant guitar. Completely badass for bottleneck slide for sure, but also it sounds incredible for fingerpicking be it in standard or open tunings. £395 is a snip!!
Hope that’s helpful.
Best, Lew

Hi Michael, Many thank's for your reply and I do feel very welcome here indeed!!
I saw the MM blue for sale but it's a collect only and no one's up for driving me that far..... bum! The main problem with the honey dipper after giving it much thought is I much prefer a 14 fretter and did send an inquiry in the other day about a new MM blues a couple of days back but am still waiting on a reply (unless the mail went astray?, I'll resend my email address just in case )
I think that's really cool of you to put up the 2nd hand MM blues link and i would get it if I could but seriously there's not many people who would do what you just did and for that I thank you!
Cheers
P.s Thank's for your input guys!
I truly appreciate it!!

Hi John
There must be a way of getting that MMB to you. It is such a good deal that it should not be left there!
Is there anyone on the forum that might be able to help john out and collect the guitar? It is in Chester.
I have shipping boxes made to measure for that guitar, but I am 200 miles from Chester!
Any suggestions anyone about how we can help John with this? It is too good to let go.
Shine On Michael.

We know chesterpete as a good guy on the forum. Maybe for a serious buyer and fellow forum member he might be prevailed upon to post.
Best wishes to you all, John

Perhaps if you could send a box up to Chester then the seller might be willing to ship the guitar? Or perhaps he/she could meet up halfway? OR is anyone from that part of town going to Pocklington? Because then maybe they could give it to MM or someone else who would be willing/happy to post it to John? Just throwing acorns of course :-)

John, I have just found the receipt and the owner's address and phone number. If you would like it, I will send it as a private message?

I contacted the seller a couple of days ago on ebay and asked but no joy as yet, probably getting quite a few inquiries. You can if you like Michael, thank's!!

It's a shame it's so difficult to obtain one off boxes suitable for posting instruments otherwise I'm sure many more sellers would be willing to post.
