The dates for this year's Pocklington Acoustic Blues & Roots Weekend are 18th, 19th and 20th November. I am very happy to announce that the guest tutor for 2016 is the wonderful guitarist, Robbie McIntosh. Robbie is well known for his guitar-work with some of the world's great artists, including; Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Mark Knopfler, Tom Jones, Cher, Paul Carrack..... I am sure everyone will enjoy Robbie McIntosh's music, his tuition and his company. Pocklington Arts Centre - North Yorkshire Book early to stay at the Feathers Hotel, they only have 20 rooms. There are other good places to stay, but the Feathers is the closest. Shine On Michael

Is the weekend suitable for players of a low ability and even lower knowledge base but with a keen interest to learn or do you need to be a player of reasonable standard?

If "reasonable standard" is a requirement I've been attending under false pretences for years :-)

Hi Chesterpete
You do not have to be any particular level to attend the weekend. As you say, just keen and there to give it a go. You'll learn loads of stuff, everyone does. It is also a lot of fun and and very social.
This year, having Robbie and me as the tutors will be a great combination and I think we'll have a lot of fun too!

Any potential attendees fancy a car share from the south? Hampshire, Sussex, London kind of areas...? Lew

Ah, the battle of The Fine Resophonics! Too far for me I'm afraid, but promises to be a stonker of an event. Thumbs up for a howling success!
