Any potential car sharers out there go from the South Coast??? I'm Brighton based, although could go from Southampton area as my folks are based there.

I can't make this. Really gutted. Does this run every year?

I believe so. I'm gonna start saving my pennies early so I can make the next one.
Woulda loved to have made it this year!

Hi Michael, blown away by your set at Whitby a month ago. I have 'old lady eyes', suffer badly from dazzle driving in the dark, but.....
1)What time does the Fri 17/11 workshop at Pocklington start/finish? Is the £35 for the workshop or the workshop & evening concert? I have a 1930s acoustic non-pickup guitar with

2) I have a 1930s acoustic non-pickup guitar with Thomastic steel bound gut strings,(bought for finger picking); if I can get hold of a finger-slide, nearest possible source music shop in Pocklington on day of workshop, could I make enough sound to do the workshop? 3) I haven't made much use of the guitar for years, I've been being very lazy & having fun singing at Uke classes; could I cope with the Fri workshop? 4) Would learning/revising a few bar chords be the best prep.? Cheers for any info. I don't want to hold your other students up, hence all the Qs. Read more: michaelmesser.proboards.com/thread/9029/pocklington-acoustic-blues-roots-weekend?page=2#ixzz4Pv1jbM3z

I will have some spare slides with me. It's an acoustic weekend so lack of a pickup is not a problem, though the resonators will be louder

Hi craicsonboard,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for your kind words about our set at Musicport Festival.
£35 will buy you a ticket for the Friday 18th afternoon tuition and the evening students performances. We will be meeting at Pocklington Arts Centre at around midday, and classes kick off 1:45/2:00 through to 5:00. Then the evening event starts at around 8:00pm
I look forward to meeting you

To all those going to this year's Pocklington, have a great weekend. Wish I could make it! Having been to a MM workshop recently, I know I would get so much out being immersed in all things slide for a weekend. Next year! Enjoy
