Please Michael can you help me?? Ive never joined or used a forum before so I hope I'm in the right place?? I've been reading about Resophonic guitars now for months and like most cant afford a national but anyway reading about your lightening and blues projects they certainly sound like a must have if interested in Reso's.. Unfortunately due to my location its proving difficult to get hold of 1 but I'd like you to clear something up for me.. After reading 1 bad review (the only bad 1 I might add) Ive also been told that if ordering 1 from Busker guitars (from whom I am STILL awaiting a reply) that they only give you B grade stock even though you are paying full price?? Can we purchase straight from you?? Please help.. Anyway sorry to ramble.. Zeph

Hi Zeph,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for your interest in MM guitars.
Busker Guitars & MM Guitars are the same company. Ordering direct from me cannot be done, all orders go through Robin at Busker Guitars.
The reason Robin may not have answered your email is because he is always very busy, but in addition to his normal workload, he got married last week!
I don't know where you heard the story about Busker/MM only selling B grade guitars, even if you order and pay for an A grade one. That is totally untrue and is not based on any facts at all. All our B grade guitars are sold at discount prices. This is unheard of in the budget-priced guitar market - most other companies sell everything at full price, no matter how bad it is.
The whole philosophy of our business is that we are 100% honest with our customers about our guitars - ON ALL ISSUES! We are one of the only companies in the world selling budget-priced guitars and giving customer service and personal setups that you would normally only get with a guitar costing four times the price.
Each guitar, one at a time and with no clock-watching, is checked and setup by Robin. This job can take one hour, four hours, or six hours, but the guitar is not ready to go out to a customer until it is properly setup.
The only way we can sell our guitars at the prices we charge is to keep all business overheads and expenses to a minimum. So that means that MM & Busker Guitars is a two man (plus a couple of helpers) organisation. This does have one or two drawbacks, but on the whole it works and we have many hundreds of very satisfied customers, some of which are members of this forum.
As for the bad review......well everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I still hold by what I said when I started this business with Robin. MM Guitars are the best budget-priced National-style resonator guitars available anywhere. No other company producing resonator guitars, apart from National Reso-Phonic, has the knowledge and expertise that we have on this subject. These guitars are designed by someone with nearly four decades of experience with National guitars, along with help from one or two friends with equal experience.... No other manufacturer is doing what we are doing.
I have moved this thread into MAIN STREET on the forum, as that keeps all MM commercial threads in one place and doesn't clutter the forum with my business.
Thank you. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Shine On Michael.

Hi Zeph, I have a B grade MM Blues on order.I can also say it does not cost anywhere near the price of an A grade MM Blues! Robin @ Busker Guitars has described the guitar to me and frankly it's a bargain!!

Hi Zeph i also bought a (b) grade MM Blues before last xmas. mine also was a bargain , and the sound of it was amazing and lived up to all my expectations, i think the reasons there are (b) grades are only cosmetic which dont affect the playability of the guitar, like Michael says when they come to you thay play perfectly well and are as good iff not better than some of the more expensive guitars, you wont get a better guitar for the money, wolvoboy

Hi Zeph,
I fully endorse the above comments.
I bought a "B" grade Lighting last year at a good price from Robin.
To be honest, having looked carefully, I cannot find ANY blemishes or cosmetic marks at all.
As Michael says, most companies would have sold this at "A" grade and I would have been none the wiser.
My advice, is get a Blues or Lighting if you want a reso, I don't think you will regret it. Fantastic value...
Cheers, Jack.

I can only loudly echo the comments of the others. These MM/Busker guitars are brilliant value. Never mind value. They do the bloody job that a reso is meant to do and that is really what it's all about. The sound is great. The finish is great. The workmanship and back-up are great. The price is great. They only need great players. Wish I was anywhere near as good a player as my MM guitars deserve. Take care. Best wishes.

Wow thankyou all folks.. for my first time on a forum its been a revitalising experience I've been reading reviews for reso's now for months and really wanted to make sure I got the right 1 and after weighing it all up, it came to MM every time.. Anyways I did get through to Robin who explained he'd had a busy week (hope I didn't appear to be moaning? although I was little) and was extremely helpful in fact I have a 14 fret MM Blues on order.. Although its not likely to be until late Sept so after reading all these messages I may enquire about a B grade?? A or B grade I'm Extremely excited and can't wait to get my hands on 1.. Thankyou all again ..

Its no suprise that Robin is busy at the moment (got married last Friday , has to deal with endless phone calls from me about reso. guitars and now and then has a sh*t load (ship load) of guitars on his door-step) I have got 3 `B`stock guitars off of Robin, all at discounted prices. Where is this review that says otherwise? Yours Outraged of Cambridge Major J Ump ( Mrs, retired)

I have seen that review. We do our best to please everyone, but it is not always possible.
Before I dismiss the review, I am going to speak with Robin and find out who that guitar was sold to. I do not recall telling anyone that a quality control fault was caused by the customer. All my discussions with MM Guitars customers happen in public on this forum, so I would be shooting myself in the foot to that, unless i had good reason to.
I have no idea who that person is, or any recollection of the thread on here, but if that customer is still unhappy with a guitar that he bought with my name on the headstock, and the faults are ours and the guitar came direct from Robin, then I will put the problem right by replacing the guitar.
Shine On Michael.

Thats just bulls**t! I'll join up and get a bit of info on him. Its not a review anyway, just someone with buyers remorse? I remember some bitter person cr*pping on about Donmo guitars once too, who also had an 'agenda'. I wouldn't have sold my national (today) if I didn't have a guitar that played and sounded as least as good (my MM blues 14f). TT
