Hi Waffle,
No fakery around here!
You only have an original package if you are getting the 1993 Minidoka Records release.

Hi Waffle, I have only just spotted your post. That is a serious MM collection you have there! That is quite a compliment > There are one or two others that would make your set complete: Play The Blues - 3 CD set - 2002 From The Horse's Mouth - National Debt - 2007 Guitar Maestros - (DVD) Sound Techniques - 2006 Nowhere to Run - Ted Hawkins - (originally released in 1989 as 'I Love You Too' on Minidoka Records / Re-released in 2001 on Catfish Records) >While 'I Love You Too' is the original, 'Nowhere To Run' is the better package to have. I was not involved with the packaging of the first release, but I was with Nowhere To Run. Plus a few complilations..... Shine On Michael

Hi Michael and everyone, New to me, maybe you ? I Just bought a copy of "Nowhere To Run" by Ted Hawkins (way ahead of it's time ! imoh) Sound's daft, but this album sounds like yesterday or today... with the musical content,I think this is a great album, What a lovely voice Ted has ! This is on the Catfish label (This label maybe not on the go anymore) Michael recommended this album to me on an earlier post.If you don't have,or know this album..buy it if you can, it is a real gem!! great sleeve notes plus production and music from our Michael and his band.
I thought i had the MM collection of goodies...but there is lots more ! Well done Michael

Hi Waffle, Thank you for your kind words. I am very pleased you like that album, and that you think it still sounds fresh and relevant. It was recorded in 1989 in studio 2 at Rak Studios in St John's Wood and for me the magic of that room and the desk that had made so many hit records, came through on to the album. (looking at this photo from the Rak website, nothing has changed since we were in there) Shine On Michael

I am jealous of that collection! I hope one day the internet age one day allows you to re-release the lot on your terms (and not with naff generic covers like they did to that re-release recently!)

Hi Waffle,
You got a copy!
Thanks for your kind words. I am pleased you like it. Ron is a good songwriter and I like his 'London' delivery. I enjoyed making this album, especially as we did the whole thing at home with domestic equipment. It was recorded on my Zoom H4N and mixed in GarageBand on my Macbook Pro. I have always wanted to make a record using cheap home-recording equipment, and 'Playtime In The Workhouse' is just that. It was also a lot of fun for me and Ed to both be back-up musicians for someone else's music.
Another one for your collection!
Have you ordered the National Debt album from Ron?
(Ron wrote the lyrics of 'Turning Blue', which is on my Lucky Charms album)
