This one is really interesting, accompaniment in C, played out of Vasterpol, probably at D. I think he played this overhand, finding the C at the 10th fret. Other opinions welcome. I don’t think it was lap style.

Hey Pickers, great clip - takes me right back to Hammersmith Odeon, October '67, when those three were all on the bill ( along with Sonny/Brownie & Little Walter - got value for money in them days! ) - Son was in better form than this, though, still had much of his old power - thanks for posting.

Is it me or can I hear what Randy Newman heard? Certainly the musicianship is right up there too.

Just getting a new thread going - we haven't talked music for a while, so what have you been listening to lately? When I was younger and this question came up in interviews; as well as what I was really listening to, I used to add what I thought would make a cool list. Please don't do that as the REAL list is far more interesting and shows what people are actually listening to. Shine On Michael.

I love that film of Jesse Fuller. I have it somewhere on VHS tape, it was one of Stefan's releases. Back when I first discovered early blues I used to really love this one. The whole album "The Lone Cat" is beautiful. Shine On Michael

This is a good one too. Starday Records - Lew Childre's Old Time Get Together with Josh Graves, Cowboy Copas and Roy Huskey. Classic line up!
Starday did a lot of brilliant records. I bought this in 1985 in Ernest Tubb's Record Shop in Nashville.

Many years ago, Jesse Fuller spent a weekend staying in the college dorm room of a friend of mine, I don't remember what he talked about but he was very friendly to all who came there and loquacious , tale after tale. Everybody wanted to learn San Fransisco Bay Bues at the time. I do remember him throwing us all out of the dorm room when he practiced which he explained was sort of like "training a dog without an audience" . I don't think he had more than the twelve string guitar at least in the room. Seeing these videos recently, my goodness what a one man band set up he had and mastered. Thanks for posting. H EDIT: Just to add, I guess going back jogged my school dazed memory - Yes he did have the Fotdella with him in the room, it was mainly covered...
