I love these guys! I'm sure I've posted these on here a few times....
Cousin Jody (Clell Summey) predated Bashful Brother Oswald as the Dobro player in Roy Acuff's Smoky Mountain Boys. He was a masterful musician and entertainer.

On BBC iPlayer Radio 4extra today, Cetus Matthews’s Blue Horizon
How she got hooked on Blue Horizon records, lots of clips from the birth of British Blues Pete
This program is about 6 years old ( I could be wrong) but I don’t think I listened to it, which is a little odd as I was in a band with the producer at the time

Nice! I have a lot of time for Gwen, she's an incredible musician. Only up the road from us in Brighton. She's also incredible at clawhammer banjo, plays it like Napalm Death, but faster!

I like cover versions when they bring something different to the song, but this one is just too close to the original. Shine On Michael

I loved this album when I got it in 1975, a couple of years after its release. Such a brilliant piece of work!
It sounds just a good today as it did back then.
Oh... then there's Countdown to Ecstasy, also blew my 19 year old mind in 1975 when I got it.

Can't Buy a Thrill was indeed a countdown to ecstasy. We were all into the heavy stuff when a girl brought that in to the Sixth Form Centre and asserted her turn to play it. I was unimpressed but very soon after I was totally smitten with it and remain so to this day. Really good call MM.
The same girl also brought in Bob Marley records, but that was a step too far for myself (and most of the other long hairs.) It took me several decades to peel away those blinkers!
