Yup, Joe Cocker with The Grease Band were a force of nature, weren't they?

Yup, Joe Cocker with The Grease Band were a force of nature, weren't they? Indeed they were. What a great line up - My late friend, Henry McCullough, was a mighty musician, as are Chris Stainton and Neil Hubbard, and the late Bruce Rowland and Alan Spenner. Shine On Michael

Stunning performance of a superb song.
Right up there with the all time greats of songwriting and performance.
Imagine if Otis had lived to record this one.

This is the album that should have won 'Best album of the '80s'.
U2?
...and whilst I'm at it - from 2000.

Damn...Bonnie you nailed this one!
I was fifteen in 1971 when Bonnie first blew my socks off. Twenty three years later I spent a very enjoyable few hours in her company.
I love hearing Bonnie play the blues
While we're there....

Take a breathe, and have an ear on that...
Grace is not a significant fact of 2020, but let's remind the music of Celestine Ukwu in such a case !

Take a breathe, and have an ear on that... Grace is not a significant fact of 2020, but let's remind the music of Celestine Ukwu in such a case ! I have this on vinyl, it is indeed beautiful music. I got it from Stern's in the mid 1980s. Celestine Ukwu made some amazing records, but died in the 1970s. I think he was only in his 30s. His music with that instrumentation and the use of lap steel guitar, at the time was called High Life, but is the forerunner of what became known as Nigerian JuJu music, of which King Sunny Adé and Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey were the most famous artists. You only have to listen to King Sunny Adé's classic masterpiece album "Ju Ju Music" to hear Ukwu's influence on his work. I have love Nigerian music since I first heard it back in the early 1980s. I never bought the album or the video, but have always enjoyed hearing Eric's unplugged show from 1992.
Filmed down the road from me at Bray Studios, Windsor.
