Hiya SSNick...
Ya that zing is no doubt due (at least in part) to the new-ness of the strings. Now having said that, these guitars apparently have somewhat of a settling-in period, so no doubt some of that sparkle is the new-ness of the reso also.
I got my first reso (the Delta) just earlier this year, and the gradual maturing of the sound is quite remarkable...it continues to get fuller, more-rounded and sweeter sounding as the time passes. Now whether this is mostly due to the strings or not remains to be seen when I get round to changing them. All the guys on here talk about the cones in the guitars settling in and improving with age, and they know a bit more about these instruments than I do!!
Keep in touch regarding the Evolution...will be interesting to compare notes!!
My best regards, Niall

I love the idea of a busker owners club. I have the very, very first busker prototype. Muchlike a Delta! No Number! Robin sold it to me to help finance the first shipment and 'cos I'm his mate!

Seasicknick My Deco sings with a Dunlop brass slide. No idea of the type and I want to try it with a heavy steel slide too.
I think I must change my name to get more recognition. Barry Reeves doesn't seem to cut the mustard!! Due to my RSI perhaps "Backpack Barry", but then again probably not!

Hi world
I have changed the slide I use for the deco. My lady heard me tring it with the big heavy DB glass slide I have and told me the guitar sounded so much better with it.
I played the guitar against the wall and concurred!!!
The Heathrowe Airport 3rd Runway Blues uses the glass slide, and even allowing for the YouTube effect I think the guitar, tuned to Dm, sounds amazing.

Busker Cannon number 007 was ordered by a Mr Bond. He specifically requested it to be fitted with a silencer and packaged in a bullet-proof Calton case. Hmmmm....interesting Shine On Michael.

I suspect Mr Bond's Cannon has only 3 strings left, after he has done some silent work for HMG.

How to proceed with the Busker Owners Club? Should we hold an annual slide up convention somewhere?
Seriously, I think something should happen but not sure what. Do we all descend on Robin and drown him with a mass attack of Crossroad Blues?

Would the MM Blues and Lightning "Owners Club" be regarded as a splinter group of the Busker "Owners Club"? Would we be "Affiliated" or "Non-Affiliated"?
To meet up I suppose we would have to cross refernce this thread, the MM guitars thread, and the "Where in the World Are you?" one

Blimey it could get complicated, I v got a MM Blues, but also a Busker would that make make me "semi-(non) affiliated member" or would I be allowed a foot in both camps!! ;D On a serious note, as Michael proposed on the 'where in the world' thread it would be nice if people got together, even if its just to drool over the collection of guitars on show!!! An interesting, if not slightly mad discussion Seriously - I am looking into the possiblities & reality of setting up an event that would start fairly small and hopefully over time develop into an annual resophonic event. A bit more than just a forum meet-up, but that would be the seed to get the whole thing going. The 'Where in the World Are You' thread is very useful and has shown me that the idea is possible. So please do keep talking and let's see whow we can get this going. Busker, MM, NRP, National, Dobro, Ozark, Fine Resophonic, Beltona, Beeton, Donmo, Regal, Amistar, Republic, etc...are all part of the same group - CONEHEADS! Shine On Michael
