Wiring head on. This is based on circuits I’ve done before. As is my usual MO, a little different from the norm, but should work/sound ok. All passive and the controls are; - Volume - Varitone (0.0068uf, 0.022uf and 0.047uf) - Bass Roll off (0.0011) These values will possibly change as I play it and start to experiment.

I got the scratch plate template done. It’s amazing how long something that looks so simple takes to make and perfect.

Hello all, I had decided to add some support in the mid left ports to create more surface area. Although I think the cone would be ok with a little bit of the cone mid air shall we say. When filling in the ports, it was so easy, I thought I’d just fill them all in. Definitely no issues down the line then and I still get the sound from the rear of the cone, so couldn’t see what I wouldn’t…

Very neat, should give years of support! Pete

And she’s done…almost… Strung with D’Addario 12-56, just need to let it all settle in, than I can add the dots to cover the neck bolts…then it’s done! It sounds lovely acoustic and plugged in.

Great to hear that the acoustic sound is good ( though actually I haven’t heard it yet!) . Will you be doing a sound clip for us? Pete

Bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain donkey-adjacent brand's guitar Love the look and headstock - you'll have to put up some recordings!

I like the build. I notice you set the tuners in quite a bit (keeping the strings straight through the nut). This puts the buttons very close to the edge of the headstock. I wonder if you would do it the same way if you build another one?

We are very used to Fender style heads that give a straight string route and wider Gibson ones (that don’t). The challenge is to make a head that looks ‘right’ and still has a familiar appearance. Often headstocks can look too skinny. Putting the m/heads as far in as possible means the head is very slightly wider than it need to be ,but gives it a more solid look. I have no idea if this was a design feature but the head looks great and would probably not look as good if it had 5-6mm off the sides.

I wonder if you would do it the same way if you build another one? Yea it’s how I planned it. I think that photo angle makes it look like it’s closer than it is. This is the 3rd headstock like this. It used to be skinnier but I didn’t like how it fit the body. Looked on when you could see too much of the post.
