Another topic tangential post - spring is in the air. I don't think microtonal and resophonics are a good match to judge by the example, but the others I found on wood body classical with nylon strings made sense soundwise - at least to my ears H I also think the ‘classical’ number sounds fine, and in tune, I don’t understand why the Tricone sounds so uncomfortable. It may be the tuning? The nylon strung guitar is possibly in dropped D(?) and the Tricone in an open D tuning(?). If the guitar is designed to be played in standard tuning wouldn’t an open tuning lead to some odd and unwanted pitch changes? My musical knowledge sadly is not good enough to give an answer. Pete John Cage was also mentioned earlier in the thread, I often play a short part of his 4’33” at gigs. Though I don’t play it with a guitar and it really shouldn’t be played with a piano. There’s a lot of stuff from Schedier’s ‘Just National Guitar’ album on YouTube, and none of the pieces I checked out at random seemed as hard (for me) to listen to as the clip above. I suggest that the clip in question does not reflect well upon the instrument or what Schnedier can do with it. link

After listening to him playing the Minnetonka number yesterday I spent an enjoyable while taking a range of videos of him on his own and some with Hula Hut and The Seven Seas, very nice too... Here’s just a couple of the ones I enjoyed:

I have never heard of that tuning EEBAGD. What is it? I don’t think it’s meant to describe a tuning, but the sequence in which the individual strings were tuned up (I.e., 1,6,2,5,3,4).

Hi Pete, I found ‘em, but they’re a little under 20mm diameter, so maybe no use to you... if you still want a couple you’re very welcome, but if you need over 20mm maybe leedscitystompers can help

Andy at RAT amps used to do a well-enough regarded line in modified Valve Juniors (also with the Bugera V5s). His site still carries an overview of the different models and the modifications he’d make - might be worth casting your eye over: link to RAT amps

Some of the suspicions voiced above might be warranted but, I wonder, is it also worth noting that a version of this ‘Before the Beginning’ collection was released on CD in 2019 (I.e., before Mr Green met his end), and that the ‘Before the Beginning’ is the title of one of the tracks in the collection?

If we’re talking about FMcD’s electric semi- before the Trini Lopez, I believe it’s said to be a Crucianelli... (Italian make)
