This is a lovely soprano ukulele constructed of all solid woods ~ solid spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides. Mahogany binding on the body and headstock. Bone nut and saddle. Gotoh friction tuners. Living Water (Ken Middleton) fluorocarbon strings. I bought this Uke knowing it had a 1" split / crack on the top wood on the treble side, which has since been repaired and is secure and doesn't move. The price reflects this fact. This is a loud uke and seems to flourish when finger picked possibly due to the not so commonly used spruce on the top. Potentially have a pod style case to go with for a bit extra, but otherwise still happy to post it if collection isn't possible. Collection or viewings/ try outs can be done either at my address in Worthing, or further west towards my hometown of Southampton. If posting is required then it would cost no more than a tenner UK, possibly less. Im after £80 for the ukulele on its own. Send me a message if you are interested. Thanks, Lewis

It's that time again when I bump into Ian McWee, get talking, buy a few too many slides from him (and then the James' Home of Tone website), settle on the one that feels the best for me (when actually playing) and try to find a new home for the rest. I've already sent one up to my good be-quiffed friend with the insatiable appetite for Nationals, DB slides and toothbrushes north of the border! Here are the remaining two if anyone is interested. Both one week old. Both hand blown lead crystal glass Ultimates. £19 each plus postage. Happy to combine postage if someone wants both 😉 Ping me a message if you're interested. Cheers Dimensions (length x internal diameter x wall thickness): Amber Glow 60 x 19 x 5mm~SOLD Blackberry 61.5 x 19.5 x 5.5mm

Sorry I came across a bit defensive there. Good catch-up thereafter though 😊😎

Well without a guitar or keyboard it is hard to tell the correct pitch and seems just as likely that Megan would be in open G and non-Megan be tuned down a semi-tone explaining the capo at the 1st fret. The song is clearly out of C position and as I said above, Megan's use of the bar across the 5th fret matches non-Megan's use of the cowboy C-shape chord, so Megan has to be playing out of some formation of open Spanish tuning, high G or regular.
Agreed, think of the notes as the numbers in a scale instead of their actual name.
The problem with theory is it ain't got no mojo has it 🙈

The capo on fret 1 of Gibson confused me as well .. also when Megan plays an open chord on the vox it doesn't sound like a G ? I haven't got a guitar but maybe it's tuned up to G#? I can't tell if it's "high G" or Spanish but I'd guess it's one of them as Ken suggested

...before it goes to its new home.
Hopefully one day I'll get a song out of this ruddy chord progression! 🤞✊

Love this What is Megan's lap slide tuned to would you say please? Jono Bags of fun that. Assuming the lead vox's guitar is a semi tone flat, have a look at roughly where Megan is placing the bar during the root chord (Gibson C) and the V chord (Gibson G).

"I do use glass for certain things and when I do I still tend to use the same dimensions because I can achieve things with that size slide that I can’t achieve with a smaller one." - M. Messer
I knew it! 😬
On a "serious note" I find anything beyond 60mm on my pinky is a bit cumbersome and unnecessary but as all the above have said that's just an opinion and it is worth trying a few different sizes and finding what suits you best. Which finger you use can make a big difference of course.
The nice thing with clever folk like Ian McWee and Ben Burrow is that you can always start a bit longer and then if it's too long ask them to shorten the slide for you. A bit more economic than buying lots and lots of slides like some pillock we all know 😳🤪 "who me?!!"
All the very best

Since a number people on here have been deuced kind to me I thought I’d reciprocate in a small way. I bought a glass slide off Ian McWee and a steel one from the chap in wales who he recommended to me - both fine bits of kit incidentally. I have a big chunky brass slide lying about which is too big for my tiny fingers - about a 22mm one that fattens out at the top and has the name acousta- glide on it. Nice but too big for me so it’s looking for a new home. Free to anyone who wants it. Can’t post pictures but it’s not hard to visualise… They're nice slides they are. Recommend for sure.

Lewis, we could always arrange for you to collect one from Dave if you're passing his place. Shine On Michael That's not a bad shout. I'm not over that in the foreseeable but the next time I am I'll message you to see if you have in stock. I actually might be interested in one of the brown pod style cases instead, but I'll message you privately 🙂👍 Cheers Lewis
