But since violin makers etc have used maple for quite a while wh not follow their lead! A violin string vibration is initiated and controled by bow so there is no strong requirement for long sustain. Resonator is the opposite case - if it has no sustain it sounds like a banjo... Karlos

Thanks guys. I'm gonna buy it and will see. Beside my tricone and styleO I've got spider too, so in the worse case I'll use it with spider.

one additional question. What is the recommended distance between mushrooms in tricone - there are three of them.
cheers

Hi folks,
I wonder what is the exact purpose of the mushroom supports between the neck-stick and the back of the body of metal guitars. One guy told me it's because to make the body stiffer which I am doubt of it - the metal body should be tough enough on its own....
cheers

I guess the spider resonator is suitbale to this. It looks that you play in electric band - so I was you I would use some elmag. pickup - perhaps Lace ultra slim sensor - it designed specificly for resonators and it gives the warm vintage sound. It sounds well regardless you use clean or overdriven channel of amp.

Hi vonlidl,
what kind of music are you gonna play on this resonator?
And regarding the pickup - I have no personal experience with it but I don't believe that any pickup for just 12EUR will work well. Yeah, perhaps it sounds snobish but everybody would use it if it was so easy.
