Hi folks,
has anyone some experience with it? It is condenser mic on goose neck attachable to tailpiece.

Hi - I saw Jimmy Heffernan(dobro ace and tutor) present it on his site a while ago and it did sound really good, even through amp. This was a woodbody dobro, so can´t say how it works with metalbodys. Not too expensive either. Here´s a link to goldtones presentation:

I got one to use with my MM blues. Fits really nicely to the tailpiece, doent get in the way of my picking hand and I like the convenience of it, but I've not been particularly happy with the sound. The gooseneck is quite short, so the only positioning options are over the treble-side of the cone at around the level of the bridge, or bent backwards to the base side but right at the back of the cone. In either case I've thought the sound was a bit thin and banjo-like. It loses all the natural reverb and punch and rich tone of the guitar, for me. In the end I gave up and went back to an ordinary mic. Just my thoughts, for what they're worth and it might be very different with a Dobro, for which I guess it's designed.

There you go Karlos. Though Bob Brozman is posing with one on a tricone at goldtone, does not actually mean anything. Like weenmillie says, it´s basically for banjos and dobros. Squareneck woodbodys with a spider has a different register than the bisquit. Maybe you can take your guitar to dealer and try it out, just to make sure. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I'm gonna buy it and will see. Beside my tricone and styleO I've got spider too, so in the worse case I'll use it with spider.
