Probably a silly question, but where's the serial number on the MM Blues 28? If it hasn't got one, is it a genuine MM Blues 28?

Ah ha, I've found the answer. obrianp got a reply from Robin about this and wrote, Blues '28. He told me he wrote it on the inside in pencil and signed it, the same way that National did. I guess that means Robin has opened them all up when doing the set-up, which must have been a lot of work for him and just shows the extra value you get when you buy an MM guitar. They don't just get picked out of the wharehouse and posted to you like other guitars on the market in this price bracket. Hi Fredi isn't it on top edge of the headstock?

It is on the MM Blues resonator, but not the Blues 28, as the top of the headstock isn't flat. I don't know about the later versions.

Jonnybees, the guitar you have is a genuine MMB28. I know that guitar.
The serial numbers on MMB28s that were set up by Robin are written in pencil on the inside. For the past two years I have hand-written the serial numbers on MMB28s on the back of the headstock, and on most I have signed it with my initials. Stamping into that headstock is not a good idea, so that is why we do it this way.
All MM guitars are opened by my luthiers at Dave King Acoustics, and checked and setup before they go out to customers. I could get them to number the guitars while they are open, but I prefer to do it myself and know which guitar I number.
