This is on ebay - looks very nice. It has this tailpiece - not sure why I've not noticed them before - they all have them... Anyhoo, is it pretty much the same as under-stringing? TT

is it pretty much the same as under-stringing? In fact, absolutely no, as you can see on my exemplar in original conditions, the angle is between 0° & 5°, so just correct about what is expected to be on a resonator guitar...

TT, Alexandre is correct. These tailpieces are nothing like understringing, they create a perfect angle. The whole idea of the design of this instrument was for ease of mass-production assembly. All the correct angles are built into the body and components. Shine On Michael

Thanks. So the claim made by the person who sold the replacement tailpiece isn't accurate - it doesn't increase saddle tension. TT

Hi,Deuce If the guitar had a shorter (unoriginal)tailpiece on it& the replacement tailpiece was of the original dimensions it would do just that. That type of tailpiece can be quite fragile & can break over the years.

This is on ebay - looks very nice. TT Thanks Deuce for the heads-up on this M32. I won it and have just got her home. Plays nicely and sounds sweeeeeet. The neck is a little bowed but certainly playable. Absolute gentleman of an owner who told me the wonderful story of the guitar which he has owned since 1944. He also let me have the original cone which is a bit battered - can these things be refurbished? Oh, no case - so if anyone has an original or suitable hard case for sale, please let me know.

Nice one! It looked like a good price the other day (didn't see what it went for). Yes, nice story too. If you care to sell the battered cone, i would take it off you. TT

I love the look of those soundholes. Doesn't Amistar do something similar?

Do M-32s etc need an offset spider? TT I can't remember any M-32 with an original offset bridge, so that I guess that this kind of bridge is more linked to M-14 or M-16, but I'm only assuming... By the way, M-32s were designed to fit both Dobro spider-bridge cones and regular 9 1/2" National single-cones and that is particular.

Hi! Deuce, £820. I was tracking this one for about a month, third time it had been up, was deeply tempted myself and now slightly regretful I didn't go for it, got side tracked by 'what parlour'. Glad for Pickersditch it turned out to be a good one! I wondered if a forum member would grab it after it showed up here. Also wondered if anyone on this forum grabbed the 'Spanish Dancer' model that was talked about so much a few months back? Loved the look of that one, just couldn't get the cash together in time Chris.
