Don't look a gift Lightning in the mouth! In the scheme of things you won't get anything near the quality for £350. It does amuse me however that many people seem to think that someone who is selling a guitar is automatically suspicious and might be trying to 'have them over'.

Hi everyone... Wat a day... straight after work 2 1/2 hours journey from Birmingham to London...... Then back - just now.... but.... man oh man, was it worth it.... Thanks for all your comments, & michael the big red text made me laugh..... You were all so right - I'm now the proud owner of MM Lightning 00029 ('08). I was blown away just how amazing the guitar is. By far the best guitar I own, and the difference between it and the Ozark ive got is unbelievable. The chunk out the neck is nothing. Yeah its a shame - the guitar is so beautiful its a shame its there - but its nothing - I cant even feel it when i play - it's so nothing - im not even gonna bother to get it repaired. Basically i only just started learning slide, and had got an Ozark secondhand - and had been dreamin about getting one of these - i cant believe i got one - just gotta practice now to get good enough to warrant it. Michael - seriously the guys are amazing Thanks for all the posts Marc

I once made the mistake of having an ebony fretboard grafted onto a (damaged) 1973 Strat maple neck. It made sense at the time and with the changing opinion of (early) '70s Stratocasters, I am enjoying it again (how daft is that?) The point of this ramble is to say that the Strat neck had a chip about the size of an old shilling out of the back behind the nut. I bought it like that (£190) After the neck work, you could not see where it had been. It wasn't part of the job but I was so pleased. I believe that it was done by Roger Giffin when he was "under the arches" by the Thames. Your small damage could be repaired very easily, but I'd just live with it. Good luck with your lightning. That's good because now we know where MML28 is. Why not register it here? michaelmesser.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talkingblues&action=display&thread=1744&page=3

Hey Marc, Well done; the dink is an advantage really. Sometimes when you get new shiny immaculate Reso you worry more about keeping it immaculate than playing it!

That is great news! Don't worry about the ding in the neck, it is nothing. As you play the guitar your skin will smooth the edges of the ding and you won't notice it. ENJOY Shine On, Michael

The ding can act as an automatic fret marker, you will know what fret your at by the feel, even with your eyes shut. Very happy for you. Envious also. Always wanted a Big L.. Take care
