Deuce, If you are referring to the lapel, jacket type badge I think I still have a few and maybe even gave Michael the one you saw? If you want one send me a PM and I will pop it on the post or you can collect depending on where you are. Regards Lee

That Dobro lapel badge was sent to me along with the replacement cone by the good folks at OMI Dobro in 1983.
The idea of sinking it into the headstock came to me when I had the new neck built. I wanted to retain the Dobro name on the headstock and it seemed as good a way as any to do that. The luthier, Nigel Thornbory, did a beautiful job of sinking it into the headstock and with the varnish over it, over the years it has become a beautiful rich gold colour.

Regards Lee Hi Lee, a cheeky question and I know it's a long shot - have you one of those "lapel, jacket type badges" available, please? You can PM with the answer. Thanks, PD.

Replace the photos, or I'm going to file this story of an alleged blue Dobro under Urban Mythology

That's a great story, how Michael got his blue Dobro back, hadn't ever read this thread 'till today. Hard to tell, but if you read the bay listing that Deuce just linked to, it's got a pretty crazy story too ... " I bought the guitar from Trevor Grimshaw, the artist from Hyde. In 1975, after a fight with a fellow artist, Trevor was gaoled for the injuries he caused. He spent a lot of time drawing guitars in his cell. I do not know if it was this one or another which was his model." Ah, artists and their guitars...

With that dented one on ebay, what's the possibility of getting it straightened out? (Stevie would know...) TT edit - went for £556 - not bad! TT

I had the great pleasure a few years back when Michael very graciously let me try his blue Dobro, and completely fell in love!! I've been desperate for one like it ever since.
Tonight that came true as I snapped this one up on eBay. My apologies if I outbid anyone here but I had to try at that price!!
It may be a bit of a gamble in its condition and I know it's a slightly different model to Michaels but I'm hopeful it will work out!! I'm certainly very excited at the possibility at the minute!!
I'll let you know how it works out when I get my hands on it!!
All the best David
