Here is my les paul copy ..loosely based on the famous Peter Green/ Gary Moore Guitar. It even has the out of phase front pickup as standard.. I have had it about 2 years and today i had the following done New bone nut, CTS 500k pots, paper in oil caps at the correct value, decent wire, switchcraft selector and Jack, wired to vintage spec. The difference is amazing, the caps in it were the wrong value and the wiring was modern and a mess. If anyone has a cheap Gibson copy it is well worth doing!

The only issue I have with the guitar is it isn't faded enough. It is to orange.. not yellow enough. Any idea how to fade it?

Jono
I have an old Antoria Les Paul, only a keeper really because of sentimental reasons but it is a good guitar and I have been thinking about getting it refurbed using a new wiring system, new pots etc all from Stewmacs. What pups did you use and did you consider the Golden Age zebra 's which are the ones that I am leaning towards, I did think about using Bareknuckles but the guitar just wouldn't be worth it. ALso looking to put some more stable tuners on it. WHat was the total that you paid if you don't mind me asking and where did you get the work done?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete the pickups weren't changed they are standard wilkinson www.jhs.co.uk/brands/wilkinson/wilkinson-pickupsSo for a new bone nut fitted and cut, switchcraft switch and socket,CTS pots black bee .22 caps new wire and wired vintage style, new strings cost me just under £200.n The guy -Andy Warnock does all my work..he is in Gravesend Kent. 6 Months before i started using him he had the proper Greeny guitar in his workshop.
