I would say hound dog if it had the hound dog logo. But it could just be a 1986 OMI wood dobro. TT

It's a Dobro® F60 model. I usually see these with square necks rather than round necks.

This exemplar is showing some differences with the 60 F model: shape of the f-holes & of the headstock (rounder with some tuners higher). Could it be another weirdness of production ? I'd like to have Mark's point of view on this one...

Please try to get hold of a copy of Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars. Page 25 lists the variations of the Model 60 during the 30+ years it was in production. tinyurl.com/jashcjq

I hope the OP does not mind me also posting a similar question in this thread. I just bought this Dobro Duolian yesterday. The serial number verifies that it is a 1995 model, but I cannot quite place what the exact model is. It appears like a Hula Blues. However a strange thing about it is that it has a brass cone, whereas it seems Hula's are silver colored? I have a theory that the body was repainted as it is solid black but the headstock is a dark brown color. Any ideas? Thank you. Jim

View Attachment . it has a brass cone, whereas it seems Hula's are silver colored? I have a theory that the body was repainted as it is solid black but the headstock is a dark brown color. Any ideas? Thank you. Jim It looks like the plating has been removed on the coverplate (the cone is aluminium, and is under the coverplate) .I think this was a 'standard' Hula Blues that has been refinished, check around the hand-rest for any signs of 'silver' plating. Ah ok. Forgive my ignorance about these guitars - I am new to resonators. Yes I think you may be right.
