Only a month to go until Blues Week 2006. If you have never been before, check out the webpage on my website and the Euroblues Promotions website - This is a great event which I highly recommend to anyone interested in playing and singing acoustic blues

I can't make the full week this year , but can get for the day on friday! . I've got a number of tuition/blues VIDEOS etc that I will be putting on the EBA desk (on Friday), proceeds to something to do with EBA; so if you still like the "old" technology, don't spend all your money before Friday! If anyone going to Bluesweek is interested in a Gretsch lap steel I will have one for sale on the Friday, I'll post an advert in the selling section in the next week or so. I'll second the motion that Bluesweek is a GREAT event & I'm really brassed that I can't make the FULL week!

I'll be there, for some of the week at least and the Boogie Boys will live again. That's a threat - there is also a fetching band uniform for this year.

Aka the Gretsch avatar it went down the tubes when I rebuilt the site to give the weenie bash a plug... I must get going again... And the fabulous Boogie Boys in matching frocks eh? mmmmhhhhh can't wait!! Phil, do you reckon if there are enough members and\or or conscripts still vertical at the weenie thing we could use them there as well provided too many sequins haven't dropped off...

Oh dear. I can't be there, much as I suspect I would love it. Best beloved and I will be in France doing our annual round of charity work. We help poor French farmers and viticulteurs dispose of their surplus produce. I know, I know, it's awful, but it has to be done, and we are really selfless in this matter. We even stay in campsites rather than hotels so that we can be close to the land AND we bring stuff back to distribute FREE to our friends. We do keep some for ourselves, but not much. So whilst you're all enjoying yourselves, think of us struggling along to another beach, another vineyard, another farmers' market, all in the name of the entente cordiale. And if Yves (aka Ray Tones) is there, buy his CD and tell him we'll have a beer in Orleans for him if we're passing through...
Cheerily,
Gerry C

Hi Karl - thanks for your very kind invitation. We'll certainly be passing through Normandie on our way to the Vendee coast and then the Pyrenees, coming back via the Limousin and Loire valley. I'll put your number in my little black book! Whereabouts is Longny? I've been though Normandie a few times, usually when on the way to and from Bretagne or the South, but I only know well the area around Rouen....
Doubt if I'll have my reso with me (need room for all that wine etc - for our friends, you understand...) but may well have something. As for Calvados - when my eldest daughter was born, my then boss took me to his house and fed me when I got back from the hospital and we celebrated the arrival with Calvados. Wonderful stuff. I couldn't even look at an apple for years afterwards...
Cheerily,
Gerry C

HI again Gerry .... I hope Michael won't mind us discussing travel matters on his web-site. Anyway Longny -au-Perche is about 50 kms west of Alencon on N12, If you are heading towards the Vendee you might go through Alencon, If you don't know already there is a brand new motorway from Rouen - Alencon. watch your speed on it the Gendames caught a Brit speeding on it the other day doing 258 kms an hour ( I think he's still locked up). Have a good holiday over here , its as hot as hell right now,not good for guitar strings . By the way i'm over in England for the last week in July? when I get back If you'are still here ..... give us a ring ...... regards Karl ( thanks Michael no more holiday talk)

Sorry Michael, but it's all in the cause of good musical fellowship.... 258 kph?! It wasn't EC by any chance? Best Beloved and I are booked out and bound to go on 1/8 Dover/Boulogne, so we'll probably hit Normandie on the 2nd. If you're in England the last week in July I'll still be home: 01274-533424. I know Alencon - some nice cafes there as useful pit-stops en route au Mans It's pretty hot here too. Just back an hour or so from an open mic which really captured the feel of of a hot humid night in Miz'ippi... Cheerily, Gerry C
