Just heard the news about the sad demise of Syd Barrett, a man who not only made some of the most amazing music, but also lived the life of an enigma as well. You may ask what this has to do with the blues, but Syds music with the early Floyd was very blues based, laced with extreme psychedelia. Also he took slide guitar to new heights with the trick of rolling ball bearings up and down the neck of his Danelectro.
Rest in Peace, Syd
The jam sessions in heaven must really be something....!

Very sad news - Syd Barrett was a major influence on many artists that followed.
It may not be cool to admit, but my favourite Pink Floyd albums were Dark Side Of The Moon & Wish You Were Here. I was a bit young to turn on to the earlier psychadelic albums. Hearing them now & seeing film of their early shows, I totally appreciate Syd's creativity & influence.
Shine On.....you crazy diamond > Michael
