Hey folks, maybe this has been discussed. I'm really interested in MM Blues Guitar but I often play standard tuning fingerstyle. Any opinions about the sound in standard tuning? In the past i played some wood body resophonic guitars which sound good in open tunings but in standard tuning a little bit "thin" or "flat" (sorry, don't know to say it in english).

Aside from the type of cone / strings that are on it (which should be a 'constant'), if would only be a quirk of a particular guitar. There's also an equal(ish) possibility that a guitar sounding good in standard might sound thin / flat in open tunings. TT

Hi jb,
A good guitar will sound good in any tuning.
If you are looking for a Blind Boy Fuller type of sound in standard tuning, a 12 fret MM Blues should be right for you.

I'm with Michael. I was going to suggest listening to Blind Boy Fuller as well. He had an amazing sound on a similar guitar.

Sounds good! The most sound samples are with slide, so i was not sure. I think i'll try one of the MM guitars but not sure about the material. Blues or Lighning. Brass sounds a little bit "warmer"?

Hi jb,
Yes, brass is generally warmer than steel. The brass MM is the LIGHTNING.
