Hi Everyone,
just bought a lovely mid priced wooden spider bridge reso. I had an active Fishman reso fitted at the shop. Fishman recommend a pre amp and of course their's are great - but what are my choices please? Has anyone got experience of a really good outboard Pre amp? - I use an AER Compact 60 amp if that makes any difference. Advice appreciated please?
Best wishes Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I have moved your post because TIN CAN ALEY is just for buying & selling.
Re; your question about pre amps - I am not able to advise you as I have no experience with pre amps. However I am sure some of our forum members can help you.
Forum members to the rescue please......!!!!!!
Shine On, Michael.

Hi Bruce, I just returned from a visit to California including a stop in San Luis Obispo to visit the National Reso factory. While there I dropped in on Bob at Highlander pickups, (actually in the next door unit on the same industrial park) who I've also known for years, to see his new tricone pickup. While there he proudly showed me his 2 chanel mixer. His website is www.highlanderpickups.com/. Take a look at the endorsers of his pickups and mixer, from Martin Taylor to Bob Brozman, Graham Nash and David Crosby to Steve James and Woody Mann... The list goes on.,, Bob is the origional enthusiast, all his stuff is hand built and then 'tuned' to achieve his best sound. So please take a look. I don't know who his agent in the UK is but know that Dave King at the London Reso Center has the pickups so may have access to a mixer too.

"active" means that it has a preamp. Why do you need another one?
