I am soon to be an owner of a busker delta! Very exiting! Im planning on keeping it in its case after playing rather than on a stand. Is this a good or bad idea? Is there anything i should keep in mind?
Thanks Holmes

Hi holmes the main thing is, its ok to keep it in your case but make sure you take it out of the case before you play it!! sorry for the pun could not resist it,i'm sure you will enjoy your guitar, you probably wont have time to put it in the case ,because you will be too busy playing it. wolvoboy

Keep it on a guitar stand for easy access--the case is for transporting it.

,if you have a guitar in a case maybe stored in another room you tend not to play it as its not readily available where as if its on a stand you can just pick it up and play it,the only other thing is if you have small kids or pets that might knock it of its stand,or in my case a friend came round and he bought his mate with him to show my Duolian whilst i was putting the kettle on i heard him playing it,dont know about you but i dont like people touching my guitars without asking fist, wolvoboy

It will be in its case beside my stand, the only reason being is i have a year old son who likes to cause havoc and being heavier i didn't want it being nocked off its stand! The reason i went for the delta is the same as most others who have bought one, the finish is more to my liking! Would i need some sort of dehumidifier or anything in the case? Or would that just benefit wooden guitars?

Keeping guitars, ones with some wood in their construction, in their cases is best. The case slows down changes in temp/humidity as well as knocks from the odd dog etc. Pete T Most of the guitars I play most are kept hanging on the wall, where I can get at them, (They should be in cases, do as I say not as I do!) (Though my `best` guitars are in cases)

I've never had a humidity issue with guitars in the UK as I think it's ultra dry that wrecks them quickest. I keep mine is cases as the strings go rusty on stands, in Yorkshire anyway.

Hi.New guitar coming soon, sounds good! Ive got a small wooden plywood box (about ice cream carton sized),with a shallow 'V' shape cut out the sides, that i place my guitar case in..I glued some velcro to the base of the wood, and stuck it on to the carpet,in a corner of the room. Its quite safe.. When i want to pull the guitar out i just swing the lid...
Similar idea to this -

I`ve been wanting for sometime to make a Dobroish guitar out of a case. So the back of the case would be the back of the guitar, remove the lid and you are ready to play......This way the guitar is ALLWAYS in the case... PT

Hi there !
I think rather than keeping your one year o child away from your guitar, you should let he/she know the guitar, and enjoy hearing the guitar, even strumming the guitar.
My wife used to worry that our two kids would damage the guitars, on their stands.
Me, i as more worried that : (A) they will stab their little fingers on one of the cut string-ends, at the headstock, or (B) they will knock the guitar over on top of themselves and get nutted hard by the neck or headstock, and had a tuner button impaled in their skull.
Ah, hmm. Not sure I'm helping the cause for persuading you to leave the guitar out !!!
Leave the guitar out on a good sturdy stand. Let them appreciate what you see in your guitar.
Pics and videos below for your persuasion :
And a later video, at least 18mnths later

Singing that well known Mississippi Fred McDowell classic, 'the farmer wants wants a wife', with my daughter, Rosanna, in 1991....maybe early 1992 I believe that musical instruments are to be used and should be a part of family life, not something dad keeps in a case that the children are not allowed to touch. They should learn to respect and enjoy them. I have never had a guitar damaged by my children or my dog. Shine On Michael
