That's a great one, Wolvoboy!
Back in the early 1980s when I was buying everything and anything related to National guitars and slide & steel playing, I was mad about Dave Apollon for a while. There was a Yazoo album, which has an unforgettable catalogue number '1066'. It has all the hits and if you like 1930s Russian virtuoso mandolin players, is the album for you!

I am not quite sure why you have titled this thread 'Hallam Hawaiian Players', as they had no connection to Dave Apollon. The Hallam Hawaiians were an English music hall act led by steel player, David Hallam. I know about them because they have been featured in a few TV documentaries over the years about British music halls. In fact whenever there is a doc' about music halls they drag out the Hallam Hawaiians!

Hi Wolvoboy,
I am not sure why he says that they found the film by accident, it has been featured in every documentary I have seen about British Music Halls! I recorded it onto a Betamax tape back in the 80s.
In 1989 it was one of the things, along with a bunch of 78 records of early British Hawaiian bands, that inspired me to record an instrumental piece called 'Sweetheart Darling'.
