At Pocklington I thought I heard mention of a similar event at Bromsgrove 2014?
Please could the dates be confirmed if known, and any advice on where to stay would be helpful.
(I know it's early but i have to negotiate with the home boss and plan in advance for travel etc).
kind regards

Hi Steve,
I do apologise, I have been busy this week and your question slipped through the net.
There are currently three events planned for 2014:
Bromsgrove - The Artrix (Acoustic Blues Weekend) - hosted and run by Michael Roach. As well as Michael Roach teaching country blues guitar, the tutors will be me teaching slide guitar and Keith Dunn teaching harmonica. Dates for this event are 28th February, 1st & 2nd March 2014.
Northampton - Blues Week (Acoustic Blues Week) - This event is now under new ownership and full details will be available very soon. Dates for this event are 27th July through to 2nd August 2014.
Pocklington - Pocklington Arts Centre (Acoustic Blues Weekend) - This is the event that I host and run. Tutors and details for 2014 will be available as soon as I have everything confirmed. Dates for this event are 14th, 15th & 16th November 2014.

I think I'm going to try the harmonica lesson - see if I can cope with it.

Hello Michael My missus is receptive to the idea of me having a day at Bromsgrove, and an attending an evening gig / performance. Its probably on here somewhere, but is there some info on pricing, who's teaching on what days, what nights the performances are? Thanks TT

Hi TT,
Friday 28th February, Saturday 1st March, Sunday 1st March, are the dates.
The pricing is not something I am involved with. Michael Roach is running this one, not me. I would check the Artrix website for information.
Tutors on all three days are:
Michael Roach - Country Blues Fingerpicking Guitar Michael Messer - Acoustic Blues Slide Guitar Keith Dunn - Blues Harmonica
The gig is on Saturday night. On Friday night there is a student floor spot evening.

If anyone coming to Bromsgrove has any old (possibly broken) guitars they want to swop/sell get advice about , you should bring them along. Its also a good place to find a home for old CDs and related stuff. Pete T

Thanks Michael and the rest of the group - it was a great weekend. Really got the blues now though, sitting here at work! Michael - did you remember the name of the Blind Willie McTell song with the cool lyrics?

Hi Dom,
Thanks for the kind message.
The Blind Willie McTell song that I was singing and playing, turns out to be a mixture of verses from two or three of his songs that follow that progression. I have found two of the songs, if I find more I will let you know...
1 - Searching the Desert for the Blues. 2 - Ticket Agent Blues. (There are two superb versions of this song, one from 1935 by Blind Willie, and one from 1949 by Blind Willie & Curly Weaver)
