Great stuff! Just reminded me, what was that Irish tune you started with at the gig? I just cracked out my Busker Tennessee for the first time in ages and I remember you did some really nice playing around that tune.

Hi Matt,
The Irish tune we played is called 'Sweetheart Darling'. I found it on a 78 record in the mid 1980s and have been playing it ever since. It was written for a film in 1933 called 'Peg o' my Heart' by G Khan & H Stothart, and does actually have lyrics. It was covered by lots of people at the time, the recording I got on 78 has no lyrics and is listed as >Sweetheart Darlin' played by Martin Dale & Charles Smart on Hawaiian guitar & Wurlitzer organ< The record is on the REX label and for any trainspotters who might want to track it down...the cat' number is 8045-A
I recorded it on my second album 'Slidedance' in 1990

Well here's the scene from the film Can't find any other recordings, and I think you may have made the second ever reference to that recording on the internet after this database! www.78discography.com/RexUK8000.htm
