Maybe I'm imagining it, but if I practice with a light slide, when subsequently using a heavy slide, getting a satisfactory vibrato is much easier. Any 'science' behind this? I have a theory.... TT

Your touch adjusts to the light slide and then carries forward to the heavier one?

Like a baseball player swinging 2 batts in the on-deck circle?

Oddly I forgot my (medium/heavy) slide the other day and used the reed cover from the tenor sax (very light), seemed much better than my slide! Maybe `a change is good as a rest`?? PT last time I did this I had to use a `shot-glass` from the bar which also worked OK.
